At this point, I fully expect Ted Cruz to run in 2020, even if means running against an incumbent Republican president.

IMHO, Cruz is well on his way to becoming the next Ron Paul. The fringe candidate that runs every year as the "real constitutionalist," does well in caucus states, but never manages to get enough voter support to win anywhere else.

If Cruz wants to spend his career tilting at windmills (as Ron Paul did) then I hope he enjoys the limelight, because that is all he will accomplish.

Cruz would benefit more than Trump.

Whatever it is Cruz has begun, I hope he finishes it.

Otoh, whatever it is he has begun will likely finish him.

Fascinating to watch, especially so given his birth and evangelical makeover.

Otoh, had Trump not been a candidate, this wouldn't have been quite so fascinating.

Instead, it would be frustratingly tragic watching Ted and the conserva-cons finish what Barry started.

“As the magistrate is, so will his officials be,
as the governor is, so will the inhabitants of his city.”
-Sirach 10:2

Whatever Trump brings with him, his first gift for me is a real hope for real change back to reality.

The reason is simple: Cruz’s own base is highly principled...

BS, Cruz’s own base is highly brainwashed, willfully ignoring Cruz’s lack of honor, lack of conservative principles, lack of Constitutional grounding, pettiness and constant dishonesty.

I fully understand it if Ted Cruz declines endorsing Trump. I will stand by him if he makes that decision, 100%.

As to the issue of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz,

I wish him an Edgar Allen Poe ‘cask of Amontillado’.

As for his never renouncing his fellowship with Glenn Beck,
may he be awarded his ‘honorary mormon knickers’, complete with, ahem, crabs.

As to his announcing so or not of his ‘now approval’ of Donald J. Trump, I can gladly serve a rodent’s posterior, for either decision the Canadian-born makes.

I think Cruz is holding his endorsement of Trump in an effort to get some items approved
at the convention. What they are I have no idea. They may be party rules, platform planks,
etc but if he has any hope of becoming the nominee down the road he needs to get on board.

So Cruz supporters support his LIE that he would endorse and support the CHOSEN GOP candidate?

Wow.

LOL, besides Trump, the only guy I ever saw fill the Sun Dome was Ron Paul. Paul has a legacy in his son, who's not going anywhere but up.

As for Cruz, he burned his bridges when he sold out to the GOPOe

At this point, I really do not care. He just needs to COMPLETELY and unequivically stand down. End his delegate and conventions scheming and release his delegates. He needs to forget 2020 as that is Trump reelection. Besides, he is NOT ELIGIBLE and has not address his undisputed Canadian birth. Even he once said he was ineligible. Time he faces facts and moves on.

The reason is simple: Cruz's own base is highly principled. They support him because he was willing to stand alone in defense of those principles, even when it had a negative impact on his relationship with the powers that be. Cruz endorsing Trump would lead these conservatives to the conclusion that Cruz wasn't the man they thought he was. And that'll cost him a lot of political capital, perhaps even all of it.

Yeah, so much political capital to lose, NOT.

I don’t think that Cruz, or Bush. Will ever endorse. They’re both licking their wounds for being “cheated” out of the office they felt an entitlement to.

They’ll both maintain an Al Gore level pout and do everything they can to damage Trump.

Good. Frankly Cruz’s campaign showed so much pettiness, deception and game playing as well as his unChristian behavior, I don’t want people to think Trump supports that.

Why should Cruz endorse him? Trump himself has said he can win without Republican unity right? Trump does not need the real conservatives (i.e. those that have not cow-towed to Obama). He has proven that through the primaries.

If Trump wins with a shattered Republican party its for the best. The Conservatives have lost the culture war. Its best that they be left behind so that Trump can forge the unity needed between the left and the right. We need to put aside little squabbles like abortion and Gay marriage.Only Trump can do that kind of a deal! Embrace unity. It doesn't matter anymore what we believe as long as we have unity!

All we need is unity and Trump is smart enough to tell us what we need to believe in.

GO TRUMP!!!

I want to see Cruz endorse Trump on the first day of the Republican Convention. At that point, it would be news and would provide a potential boost. Today, it would do almost nothing.

I just re-watched the six minute interchange between Cruz and a Trump supporter on the eve of the Indiana primary. It’s rough. The champion debater walks in and gets pounded by a random guy like a human pinata.

Cruz tries his patronizing, deeply principled candidate voice and cadence, pregnant pauses and all, and is just made to look like quite the wide eyed fool.

Alinsky was right - ridicule is a potent weapon. Cruz just went into that battle of wits on the street completely unarmed. I’d almost feel sorry for Cruz. Almost.

The truth is what all need to hear. Abolish human pre-born genocide, uphold the law. If Cruz is the one who will be the thorn in the side of the congress critters, I say God bless Senator Cruz.
