Why Ted Cruz Can't Drop Out Prior to the Convention
Politics as Unusual ^ | Today | Otto Lamp

Ted Cruz, his father, and David Barton
Here is why Ted Cruz can't drop out prior to the convention:

Robert Morris Announces Solemn Assembly of 75,000 Pastors at Cowboy Stadium in July 2016

Just in time for the GOP and Dem National Conventions, Robert Morris and friends want to get 75,000 pastors in Dallas’ Cowboy Stadium to pray for the nation. Morris announced the big solemn assembly in his Saturday (8/8/15) sermon at the Southlake campus of Gateway Church...
The national conventions for both parties are also in July. This looks like a perfect occasion to organize for the GOP nominee. The timing makes it seem more like a political event than a prayer meeting.
It is being billed as a non-political event. The fact is, it will end up being a Cruz-fest. The people putting on and attending this rally are Cruz's religious supporters. People who have backed his run; who believe in Ted Cruz; who literally believe Ted Cruz has been anointed by God to be president.

Ted dropping out before they had a chance to pray a miracle and put Ted into the White House would show a lack a faith. So no, Ted can't just drop out, and he won't.

Paraphrasing a tag line seen on FreeRepublic:

If God had wanted Ted Cruz to be President, he would have been born here.

A ‘Cruz-fest’, eh?

How about these Pastors simply pray for the nation to repent and seek the face of God?

Option 1: This is totally bat guano crazy, and the real, more sensible, reason Cruz cannot drop out is that his father assassinated JFK knowing that it would set Ted Cruz up to be one of the top four candidates for the vacancy 53 years later, and he doesn’t want his father’s effort to be wasted.

Option 2: This is totally bat guano crazy, and the real, more sensible, reason Cruz cannot drop out is that he wants to control his delegates in case something comes up at or before the start of the convention, and he wants to shape the platform (to the trivial extent that platform matters) and the issues under discussion (to the trivial extent that anyone other than Trump has any input this year).

There is no “Option 3” that is anywhere near as sensible as 1 or 2 above.

No, Hillary is counting on everyone beating the “Lyin’ Ted” drums causing more and more of Cruz’s supporters to be alienated past the point where they would be willing to vote for Trump in November.

Given the protections now afforded Mr. Trump for the sake of defeating Hillary, it seems odd the “Lyin’ Ted” bullsh*t hasn’t been similarly exorcised from here.

Then again, it’s infinitely more effective when it comes from Mr. Trump’s own mouth.

Cruz supporters are being alienated-—from Cruz. His constant whining and bragging about “winning” delegates in backroom deals has poisoned his brand. It’s shown by the Cruz Collapse, and the posts from former Cruzers here on FR. By the time of the convention he won’t be able to be reelected in TX.

Cruz is DONE. If he had any honor, he would quit now, give his delegates over to Trump, so Trump can win without having a contested convention, then he would support Trump against Hillary. This would also helo Cruz in hi future.

But, unfortunately he won’t do it, because he is to deluded and refuses to see the handwriting on the wall.

A miracle as in stealing the nomination?

I don't think God would be doing that, but Satan would.

Here's a prayer that might help Ted Cruz...

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
courage to change the things I can

& the wisdom to know the difference.

God raises and God deposes. He will choose the basest of men to be kings. (Dan 2 & 4)

Not choosing Cruz would be a sign that Cruz’s Godly supporters are not correctly understanding God’s direction at this time.

How can so many of you Freepers rail against a man that at another time would be considered an American of honor and courage.

First of all, the man in question would need to be an American. For the man to have honor, he would need to be honest about his citizenship, and he would need to be honest about his affairs, and he would need to be honest about his ineligibility to hold either his current Senate seat, or to pursue the US presidency.

Maybe if courage is defined as unmitigated gall, then Cruz does have that -- the same audacity of the previous dope.

Interesting how Isaiah 54:17 fits exactly what has happened with Trump so far.

That’s the case that might have been made for Cruz in the summer of 2015. Now he has been exposed as a phony, a jerk, and a whiny, smarmy cretin. He shows no leadership skills and lacks strategic thinking, about his future and his country’s. He cannot be trusted, not by his wife, and not by the country. And everything he has done since his debacle March 15 has been to help Hillary get elected.

What, they can’t pray for the nation if Cruz drops out? This doesn’t make any sense, unless it is the obvious: they worship Ted Cruz as the Golden Cow.

They better watch out for a lightning bolt.

So he can’t drop out and still go to the meeting asking to support the front runner.

Then that would rule out many of my friends I had as an Army Brat. Plenty of kids I know were born overseas, and not always on US Military bases and where one parent was not a US natural born citizen. Yet they can run for President. That argument has already been dismissed in court.
