Bernie Sanders Is Now the 'Inevitable' Democratic Nominee and Presidential Winner

What happens when poll numbers are wrong about a candidate's inevitability?

It took Barack Obama until February of 2008 to overcome Clinton's "inevitability," as illustrated in a USA Today piece titled Poll: Obama now seen as most electable:

The air of inevitability that once surrounded Clinton has shifted to the Illinois senator, now seen by seven in 10 Americans as the likely Democratic nominee...

"Obama has transitioned from a movement leader to a presidential leader," says Democratic pollster Celinda Lake, saying he has "crossed the threshold" to being judged able to handle the job.

Pundits forget that the "air of inevitability that once surrounded Clinton" shifted to Obama; only after he transitioned from a "a movement leader to a presidential leader."

In 2016, Bernie Sanders is not only today's Democratic "movement leader" (as exemplified by endorsements from The Nation and MoveOn.org), he's surpassed Hillary Clinton as the "inevitable" presidential candidate....

I see it happening. What an awful, awful candidate Bill Clinton’s WINO has turned out to be.

Well, I’ve been saying this for months.

Hillary is only polling well because the media is hiding her from voters. She sounds like Lindsey Graham calling for military intervention everywhere. This is about as populer in the dem primary as calling for amnesty in the republican primary.

Hillary will join Jeb very soon.

Yay! This means I no longer have to hear Dems saying, “No more old white men!” Right?

I agree that Bernie Sanders is likely to be the Democratic nominee.

On a purely personal level I like Bernie a lot better than Donald Trump. But socialism is the path to national poverty. Recent history is full of honest non-corrupt socialists like Bernie Sanders who impoverished their countries. So sorry, Bernie, you’re a nice guy, but I can’t possibly vote for you.

Nope, it’s going to be a Biden/Warren ticket, and McConnel will vote for them, over Cruz or Trump.

We should all be careful of what we hope for.

Biden will be a formidable candidate especially if he picks a dynamic, popular veep candidate (forget Pokahauntus, he won't pick her).

There isn't a day I don't pray that Hillary will be the candidate of the Dem party. She can't and won't win....and that's what we want.

Exactly right. No to Bernie, yes to Hitlery. Come on Dems, do the right thing, vote for Hillary, please.
