Poll Points to Upside for Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio in GOP Race
The Wall Street Journal ^ | January 4, 2016 | Aaron Zitner

The heated rhetoric and large candidate field have made the Republican primary race look loud and messy. But here's a simple way to view the landscape: The GOP electorate is divided into three, broad groups, each roughly equal in size.

There is the socially conservative wing, which has elevated Sen. Ted Cruz and Ben Carson. The GOP's establishment-friendly, more-centrist wing backs Sen. Marco Rubio and a few others. And then there are the Donald Trump voters, a largely working-class and male group drawn together by Mr. Trump's unique persona and, in large measure, his promise to end illegal immigration.

With about one-third of voters in each camp, according to indications seen in December Wall Street Journal/NBC News polling, the stage is set for some drama: Which candidate has the crossover appeal needed to win majority support? Once Iowa and New Hampshire start to winnow the field, which surviving candidate has the most room to grow?(continued)

But wait!!! Who is winning? Donald J. Trump. In fact, take this to the bank. This nomination is over. You are seeing Krauthamer capitulate. My GYN Kelly will soon disappear . Rush is on board. Sanunu is history with baby bush and Karl Rove!!. This thing is OVER. What you are about to witness is the greatest “band wagon” effect in history with thousands begging Trump for forgiveness. BOOKMARK MY WORDS!!

I am not sure what exactly do you mean about “Rush being on board”. What Rush has said, including today, is he favours no one. He has maybe three in mind but that is it. Sorry, I think you are a little ahead of yourself.

And then there are the Donald Trump voters, a largely working-class and male group drawn together by Mr. Trump’s unique persona and, in large measure, his promise to fix the country...

With about one-third of voters in each camp, according to indications seen in December Wall Street Journal/NBC News polling, Trump wins in a landslide....Did I read that right???

It’s going to be a busy few months here as the whole thing shakes out. It’s always amusing to see those convinced they know how it all will shake out even before any votes have been cast.

If Rubio were truly a principled conservative, he would understand he has no chance of beating Hillary and would drop out now.

30% will not win the nom.

However, McCain won the nomination that way, with the other candidates dividing up the remaining votes. Unfortunately, Trump could be the new McCain, pulling a 30% plurality in primaries, while the 70% of us who do not want Trump are divided among the rest.

Rush is doing his job. He will never vote Trump. Rush says Trump is not conservative and has never claimed to be.
He is a Cruz guy.
Guaranteed.
