Republican voters view Donald Trump as their strongest general election candidate, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll that highlights the sharp contrast between the party's voters and its top professionals regarding the billionaire businessman's ultimate political strength.
Seven in 10 Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters say Trump could win in November 2016 if he is nominated, and that's the most who say so of any candidate. By comparison, 6 in 10 say the same for retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who, like Trump, has tapped into the powerful wave of antiestablishment anger defining the early phases of the 2016 contest....

Unfortunately, as a conservative, which Trump is not, I fear that is probably true. There are lowfos on both sides, apparently. Maybe he’ll turn out to be another Reagan, but Reagan actually believed in things and was not simply showboating, as Trump seems to do, and Reagan was politically incorrect, but not boorish, as Trump is with the ladies.

He us ‘winning’ also.

Top Professionals huh? Well, us...the unwashed voters should vote the way the “professionals” tell us to. Isn’t that the Republican “go along to get along” way?
It has been for years and look at us now...we are getting rid of one RINOe speaker and getting little Eddie Munster to replace him.
Yep! We really struck the fear of God into the GOPe for now they are so afraid of us conservatives that they are doing EXACTLY as they have been forever...with impunity.
My prediction is that after the upcoming elections absolutely nothing will change in the GOPe and life will go on with happy legislators stuffing their pockets and inflating their egos just like always.
Wait! I forgot...there will be a change for there will be some freshmen GOP who will “earn their wings” so to speak, and enter the ranks of the esteemed GOPe.
Nothing else will change.
One of the most likely predictions I have seen
I’m still Cruz supporter. But as someone who thought they would be sitting out this next election, I will have no problem pulling the lever for Donald Trump. If not for Trump, we would be stuck with Jeb.
ABSOLUTELY
That may not be a good thing. The last two elections, the GOP picked the electable candidate, and they’ve lost.
And Trump is right on some issues, but he’s not a conservative.
