At this point, at least superficially, it looks like Trump could win as a Republican, or as an Independent, or as a Democrat.
And I'm not saying that as someone who thinks that's a good thing.
IF Trump wins the Presidency, I would much prefer that he did it as the Republican nominee, primarily because he would then become the titular head of the GOP. They’d sure as hell not like it, but as President, he could keep that RINO brand down - maybe stomp it out or get their minds right. The first place he could start would be Boehner’s and McConnell’s district and state.
If he did it as an independent, then collective RINO GOPe would just band together and hibernate for 4 years, waking only enough to stab him (his policies) in the back every chance they get.
