NY Times, Sane People Struggle To Understand Donald Trump's Appeal
Gothamist ^ | August 23, 2015 | Ben Yakas

Donald Trump is a racist, sexist hypocrite who doesn't understand the economy (or basic math) and probably doesn't have anything resembling an inner life—but the man sure can put on a good show! Good enough that thousands of people who get off on the xenophobic, hate-filled subtext of his blathering will pack half a stadium to watch his combover blow in the wind. Which leaves one question for the sane among us: why is a television punchline appealing to people now?

Pro-Trump Twitter is such a weird place

The NY Times grappled with that question this weekend, and came up with some possible, but somewhat unsatisfactory, answers. In interviews with voters in Michigan and New Hampshire after Trump events, they found that no one cited his policies as motivation for backing him. Mostly, they like the fact that he has a brash personality.

His support is not tethered to a single issue or sentiment: immigration, economic anxiety or an anti-establishment mood. Those factors may have created conditions for his candidacy to thrive, but his personality, celebrity and boldness, not merely his populism and policy stances, have let him take advantage of them.

Tellingly, when asked to explain support for Mr. Trump in their own words, voters of varying backgrounds used much the same language, calling him “ballsy” and saying they admired that he “tells it like it is” and relished how he “isn’t politically correct.”

Trumpism, the data and interviews suggest, is an attitude, not an ideology...

That’s because they gave up trying to understand the New Yawk Slimes’ clueless editorials and needed something to do.

A few years ago, the Slimes was selling more copies in greater Boston than in Brooklyn.

Sane people stopped paying attention to the paper when Pinch started driving it even further from reality than it already was.

I have come to believe that the ‘talking heads’ and the MSM think that they are so correct in everything they say that we, as idiots, are going to swallow every word they say...

I can see that as this goes along, they are really getting insane, and when someone talks back to them, example as Carson did today, they don’t know what to do...

I am loving this election more and more everyday...I first voted in the Kennedy-Nixon election in 1960....

“Management” It was so simple and perfect yet it still fly’s over their heads. Or does it? I think the hyperbole dam is going to burst.

Watch as Trump takes the big Wall Street/CoC money away from the GOPe candidates, or makes it such a radioactive anchor that those that cling to it sink.

Great article at the Conservative Treehouse hinting at this.

Why is Trump’s candidacy resonating with us poor dumb folks out here in flyover country? Simple. His is the only candidate on both sides of the isle, Left, Middle or Right that has not lied to us. he says he is going to do something and so far he has done it. He changes, he loses. He “Grows” into his candidacy, he loses. He lies to us, he loses. He keeps up with the straight talk and follows through, he can win the Presidency in a cakewalk.
See. Simple.

Sane people? It never ceases to amaze me the disconnect between liberals and reality. When confronted with the fact that her people were starving, Marie Antoinette is reputed to have said, "Let them eat cake." I don't know if that's true or not, but it perfectly typifies how far removed liberals are from reality. They truly don't have a clue.

We're just pawns for their experiments.

What is insane is that they fail to see & acknowledge, that many voters supporting Trump are sick of the dog & pony show put on by the uniparty! They are so self absorbed and oblivious to the fact that we wise to their agenda and do not want to go along with the Washington Cartel any more. The pundits better stop blovicating as well, because “We The People” can make Them famous or send them to the trash heap of history!

My candidate’s a corker
He’s a real New Yorker.
He moves his hips
Like battleships,
And has hair
Like a Norwich terrier.
