The Washington Post's Post Politics ^ | August 17, 2015 | Philip Rucker

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination with a unique message of compassionate conservatism and cultural inclusion, will pick up a head-turning endorsement Monday in the Bible Belt.

Alabama Gov. Robert J. Bentley (R) plans to endorse Kasich at a campaign event in Birmingham, according to a Kasich campaign official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose the plans.

With Bentley's backing, Kasich hopes to show that his message can appeal across the Republican spectrum — from the Midwest, where he has been a popular governor, to New England, where he is rising in the New Hampshire polls and now to the South.

Bentley will be the third sitting Republican governor to endorse a candidate in the 2016 presidential race. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and Maine Gov. Paul LePage are backing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who served as chairman of the Republican Governors Association....

I don’t vote for people according to who endorses who. Or is it whom?

Well, the Governor of Alabama, you say?

I guess I’ll have to change my tagline.

NOT!

“Jeb” Kasich - for when you need a RINO but just can’t take another Bush.

Utterly bizarre. Bentley has been a decent Governor, in sharp contrast to the leftist RINO Kasich. Perhaps he’s hoping Kasich will name him his running mate.

Vitter & Jeff Sessions’ endorsements are the only ones that will matter.

Embrace it now, he is a likely nominee. Trumps numbers with Hispanics and African Americans are poor. His negatives are high. He’s our Howard Dean. Kasich is better than Jeb (who isn’t?). His immigration plan is similar to Trump’s - keep the good ones, build a fence and get rid of the bad ones. None of the candidates will change anything with regard to Gay marriage, so let’s rip that band aid off right now....

If he’s not Plan B he may be Plan C, in any case he is definitely a Cheap Labor Express candidate.

Bentley’s endorsement will swing few if any votes. Much more likely to be influenced by Sessions.

And Kasich’s style won’t appeal to very many Alabamians.

“The GOPe’s Plan B?”

Plan C.

Plan A is Jebbie, Plan B is Rubio, and Plan C is Kasich the knucklehead.

99 out of 100 people in the United States cannot name the governor of Mississippi. Perhaps 999 out of 1000 do not care who the governwhore of Mississippi endorses.
