Disenfranchised voters gravitate to Trump, experts say

Brad Lena sees Donald Trump through the prism of Star Wars: “a disturbance in The Force.”

The billionaire businessman and reality TV star arrived Thursday at the U.S.-Mexico border to emphasize his hardline stance against immigration, in a week of attention-getting moments that thrust Trump into the lead among 16 GOP hopefuls for the White House.

It's his disruption of the political class “that continues unimpeded their malevolent contributions to the rule of law, freedom of conscience, representative governance, competitive capitalism, freedom of speech, fiduciary stewardship and so on,” Lena, 62, of Bell Acres, a small borough northwest of Pittsburgh, said of Trump's attraction to many voters.

“The people are getting restless; hence, the rise of Trump,” he said.

Trump's surge in the polls alarms the Republican establishment that he renounces.

But his words strike a chord with some Americans who are disillusioned by government and politicians.Whether they'll vote for him is another question....

Trump is tapping into the surpressed rage fueled by rise in crime, black racism, riots, attacks on police, weak actions in Washington by GOP (excepting Cruz, Lee and Gordy). If he can rally the old white Unionists—who are seeing the Democrats as the party of Minorities only —he may well change things in ways no one else can.

A guy who could get the 64% of the populace who never vote to vote for him could win.

Wonder what his FR handle is.

It ought to give the Dims pause to think that even if Trump can't or won't win the nomination, he's getting the stay-home-on-Election-Days types so riled up, there could be a bloodbath next November. People are just getting fed up and Trump is pushing the right buttons with plain talk.

Trump can’t be bought.

The other politicians are all controlled by lobbyists and big donors. They are bought and paid for. Not Trump

Ted Cruz and Trump are our last great hopes. If the GOPe is successful in blackballing Ted from the nomination and in putting up one of their clowns instead, then I trust Trump will run third party and destroy the corrupt, rotten-to-the-core GOPe for once and for all.

Why do we like Trump (excerpt from a post in Hot Air)

It’s because for the last 6 years we’ve been begging the Republicans to do something. Anything. At first they said they couldn’t do anything because they didn’t have the Presidency, House or Senate. Then they said they couldn’t do anything because Harry Reid was blocking everything in the Senate. Then they said they couldn’t do anything until the 2016 elections because Obama would veto. Now they are saying they won’t be able to do anything even with a Republican President because too many Senate seats are up for grabs in 2018.

On and on and on and on with the excuses of why they can’t do anything. But, VOTE FOR US!

Now comes Trump. Who has no power at all but the bully pulpit. He’s been on the scene two months. People keep asking him, “What will you do? What’s your plan?”

But we’ve already seen what he’s done and he isn’t even in the White House yet. Thanks to Donald Trump, they are holding hearings on the hill focusing on the deaths of Americans by illegals. Thanks to Trump, many low information voters in this country who had never heard of sanctuary cities, or didn’t even believe they existed when they did hear about it (People I know on Facebook) now know that they are real. And they are appalled.

This is all happening thanks to one man, Donald Trump.

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that. He has brought attention to one of our most important issues.

And this is why I support him here on these forums and others.

Will I ultimately vote for him? I don’t know. I like many of the Republican candidates. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Ben Carson, Scott Walker, all resonate with me in different ways, and all cause me heart burn in different ways.

But Trump isn’t making excuses. He’s getting things done.

That’s why we love him.

“Disenfranchised voters”
That’s right. We’re moody, quiet loners who talk to ourselves while we polish the feed ramps on our fully automatic assault rifles and practice posing provocative questions into the mirror, working on alliteration when we aren’t writing crank letters to the Editor.

Politicians have ruined this country. And people still trust them . but politicians are all controlled by lobbyists and big money donors. And people say we need a 3rd party. it’s not just a party. It’s the whole political process. So even if you start a 3rd party will they not take donations or not talk to lobbyists? Only Trump can use his own money because he has 10 billion dollars.

Show me a politician that doesn’t take donations and doesn’t hang out with lobbyists THEN maybe I’ll start believing what he says he is for or will do. Until then there is only Trump that I believe is being honest.

Not sure I would want Trump in the WH, but I’m enjoying the daily media circus and how Trump handles the media and his critics.

The rest of the GOPe should take a cue and learn how.

And Cruz is probably the only other Repub candidate that hasn’t spoken negatively of Trump.

Trump is the same reason many of us like Palin - no double talk, just plain talk with a “media be damned” attitude.

Trump knows the media needs him more than he needs them.

Another excellent point by you. Trump may have no political record, but the House just voted to punish Sanctuary Cities.

DOES ANYONE HERE believe the House would have taken that vote, except for Trump? If they do, they are simply lying.

So, in that one vote (which will be stopped, but at least puts people ON RECORD, Trump has already more to advance border security than the ENTIRE REPUBLICAN PARTY has done, despite years in power (at least in the House).

...the House just voted to punish Sanctuary Cities.

And what make you think anything will ever come of it? If it gets through the Senate American House of Lords, King Barry will veto it.
