In the disintegration-reinvention cycle, the GOP is about a decade ahead of Democrats.
America is not as polarized as it might seem from the noise level that in recent years has propelled into office candidates from both parties who hold marginal views. Nonpartisan independents, including the majority of Americans 18-30, are now by far the largest group of voters, representing up to 45% of the total and rising, according to the Pew Research Center. The question is how the presidential candidates in 2016 will engage and try to persuade this critical block of moderates.
Institutional momentum favors the Republicans, whose party is about a decade ahead of Democrats in the disintegration-reinvention cycle, having hit the polarized bottom with the tea party around 2009. Republicans now appear ready to come back toward the center, while Democrats seem to be marching to the left.
Hillary Clinton is unlikely to cede the partys liberal base to economic redistributionists like Bernie Sanders, and the next generations version, Martin OMalley. Any remnants of the Clinton centrism that marked her husbands tenure in the White House may have vanished by the time Mrs. Clinton becomes, as expected, the Democratic nominee....

I bet you dollars to donuts that there is a organized , abush attack , effort here on FR by the Hate Ted Cruz trolls to go on over to Ted Cruz’s Facebook page to spread lies and propaganda to make it look like he is sinking.
Who would be sleazy enough to organize something like this with the help of Mitt Romney’s people ?
Remember Robo Calls ?
Robo Sleaze, Robo Trolls.
Cruz supported TPP. Loved him til now. Now he is through though. Seems to be how everyone else feels here too. No organization of that is needed. No ambush attack is needed. He took the wrong side.
Meant that to be a private reply there, instead of a post. Sorry for that. Private reply as I don’t feel like an expert here on this.
The “middle ground” of today was “pure insane lefty fringe” 10 years ago
The news pages have always been farther left than the NY TIMES, its editorial page was libertarian
“Both parties” are far to the left of middle.
Its OK, don’t worry, we all mess up.
Of course I was shocked after hearing the wrong information and propaganda about TPA and TTP when I heard that Ted Cruz voted on it.
But I decided to wait for the dust to settle to get more clarity on it, and why, and what Ted Cruz supported on this bill.
Many say Ted Cruz gave Obama more authority with this bill.
No, he didn’t, he, Ted Cruz stripped away the clause in it for back door amnesty.
What many people are getting confused with is, this bill is what Congress grants what Obama can do with a trade treaty.
Obama can not make a trade deal with out Comgress’s approval, consent, and after Congress and the public has had time to look at what is in it.
Even Ted Cruz has said that it was stupid to have it in classifed text.
Most what you have heard about this bill is what some have parroted of what they heard parroted from another on what their option is on it.
It’s best to go directly to the source, Ted Cruz himself and let him explain why , and just what he supported in that bill.
There is a radio interview of Ted Cruz about TTP and TPA, and with Hugh Hewitt.
