So many reasons I want Ted Cruz elected President, but it would be so much fun watching him debate The Flying Buttress.

Especially when Her Majesty goes into “You’re invading my space and making me feel uncomfortable as a woman!” mode.

Because that’s all Hillary has got. Cruz will turn her arguments into Grade Triple-Z grist & leave Hillary ranting, “You just can’t stand having a woman President!!”

And by that time in 2016, Ted Cruz will be 45 and Hillary will be 68. Twenty-three years difference, hmmm.....

This is a popular position to take and I will admit up front that I am a Cruz guy, but people keep calling Rubio a RINO. Outside of his amnesty debacle, he is a solid Conservative. He rates in the high 80’s to lower 90’s in the Conservative ratings put out every once in awhile.

I’d vote for Rubio if he was nominated...

yeah but the amnesty thing could cost US elections for years and years to come.I hear you on the conservative voting record. But something in my gut tells me he would allow amnesty.even legal status for this generation without the right to vote would give us a chance to influence the next generation 15 or 20 years from now. But blanket amnesty, that would just be too many votes to overcome. I dont know.

Yep. He might cave...but, we need voter ID in all states to counteract the illegal votes. Amnesty is troubling, but he is solid otherwise. I just figure we also have the Supreme Court to fill as well....we can’t have Hillary.

you make sense.we still a long way to go and right now Cruz is my man.I don’t understand enough about the Free Trade Agreement to know if his voting for it was good or bad but I wouldn’t let one issue deter me I would probably pull the lever for Rubio if push came to shove. Jeb Bush is another matter altogether but thankfully it seems like he’s sinking for good

Some swill from a New York Slimes shill for Hill' -- apparently her complicity in multiple murder, breaking of federal laws, compromiser of US national security, corruption, and bribery wasn't newsworthy. Thanks entropy12.

Absolutely, Ted Cruz is a great conservative and would love to see him one on one in debates with Hillary. But first, he has to win the nomination. Huckabee will steal a big chunk of evangelical Christian voters from Cruz. If Santorum makes a serious run, that is more votes lost from Cruz. So far, judging from polls (as opposed to posts on FR), Rubio and Carson are winning the “likability” factor. That has nothing to do with my personal choice. I simply analyze what I see in news. Therefore, at this point, I am not putting my money on a Cruz nomination. But it is way too early. Let the debates happen, and a clearer picture will emerge.

My first 2 choices are still Walker & Cruz.

From purely a “entertaining” debate perspective, I would pay to watch Hillary-Christy debate, more than any other combination.

Do not rate anyone based only on reading posts on FR. Even Jeb Bush governed conservatively in Florida, judging by taxes, education results and judges appointed. Actually we have a bumper crop of conservatives in LEADING positions this time compared to 2012 & 2008. Except I wish all the retreads from 2012 would stay out of it (Huckabee & Santorum, both of whom will hurt Ted Cruz’s chances).

I agree with you. Some dont want to remember Rubio walked away and warned about Obamas plans. He shouldnt have got involved with McCain Burr Graham in the first place.

When the Florida primary comes along and Bush is still in the race I’ll have to vote for Rubio..instead of Cruz or Walker only because Florida is a winner take all and Cruz/Walker can still have time and room to make gains.

If Bush wins Florida he will be the nom. Plan and simple.
SC could be a bellwether state for Bush. Graham is the fav son sort of and would take away votes from Bush I think.

In any case we a have a long ways to go.

I concur that amnesty will hurt conservatives for many decades to come. In fairness to Rubio, he has seriously modified his position on amnesty to illegals. In addition, NONE, ZERO, NADA of the candidates running in 2016 including Walker, Cruz, Bush, Carson, Huckabee, Trump, Fiorina, etc have come out for deporting MOST illegals. In my book NO Deportation of MOST = Amnesty! Law breakers must pay a stiff price, otherwise it is just anarchy.

I rate people based on their records. Cruz has the most solid record of them all. Santorum and Huckabee will not do much damage to Cruz..I don’t think so at least

Based on polls I am seeing on Real Clear Politics, they are already hurting Cruz. Ordained Southern Baptist minister Huckabee is still popular among evangelicals.
