Daily Caller: Rubio's Candidacy May Cut Into Scott Walker's Appeal

The formal entry of Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida into the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination could spell trouble for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, according to W. James Antle III of The Daily Caller.

Walker has been running ahead of the pack of declared and undeclared candidates. The most recent Fox News poll of national Republican primary voters has him maintaining his lead, with 15 percent support. He is generally out front in Iowa and New Hampshire polling, too.

Since he declared his presidential aspirations, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has also been pulling double-digit poll numbers. If the other announced candidates who are appealing to the conservative base, Rubio and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, also now start drawing double-digit support, this would necessarily "start eating into Walker's base," wrote Antle...

I haven't seen much support for Rubio here.

Don’t see much in the polls either. Yet for some reason the talking heads have anointed him a “top tier” candidate before he even announced.

They’re trying to make him into a new JFK or RFK or something. I smell Bush/Rubio vs. Hillary/Castro.

1957 movie Face in the Crowd of the life of Lonesome Rhodes.

Arthur Godfrey’s scandal.... Not really a nice guy as they would have us to believe portrayed in the media.

When is Hillary Clinton going to have her Lonesome Rhodes Arthur Godfrey moment ?

Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign : Lonesome Rhodes / Loathsome Roddam

I'm a believer. I think Rubio is a stalking horse for Jeb, and will be trying to siphon votes away from Cruz and Walker.

He's telegenic, charismatic, speaks well and I don't trust him at all anymore.

Rubio could have had conservative support but he choose to sleep with the RINO’s led by John McLame in support of the illegal alien invaders pouring across our border.

The Gals on Fox News are all giddy about him running, they are swooned by him...

It must be the swoon effect..

Yeah, so were Mr. Obama, Chancellor Hitler, Jim Jones, Joseph Smith, L. Ron Hubbard, Huey Newton....

Just stating the facts, he has great positives as a candidate. I don't want any part of him if at all possible, as I said I find him untrustworthy to the highest degree.

I do believe he is doing this to siphon votes from Cruz and Walker.

I hope he fails.

I would guess Rubio’s support will cut into Jeb’s Democrat wannabes.

Uh. I don’t even dislike Rubio, and I am beginning to this week from the skewed press coverage.

Rubio can’t be Jeb’s running mate unless Jeb claims to be from somewhere other than Florida.

I think he may end up taking votes from Jeb instead. The type of republican voter that backs Cruz or Walker probably won’t like Rubio much.

I remember 4 years ago when Pawlenty was branded a first tier candidate by the MSM.

Clearly the GOP-e sees that pushing Jeb is not going to work.
Rubio is the next Jeb

Well he is supporter of the illegals.

” I think Rubio is a stalking horse for Jeb, and will be trying to siphon votes away from Cruz and Walker.”

I think you could easily be right.
I think their first target is Walker.
He polls well and he’s won in a blue state he’s had success
against unions and other sacred cows that the left holds dear.

After Rubio cuts into Walkers base enough that Walker starts to fade in the polls then they’ll go after Cruz.

Rubio is not as slick as he thinks he is. He already played the “amnesty Ace” and lost the poker game. IMHO, he’s done.
