“I haven’t been encouraged by her” either, but I understand her dilemma. What else could she have done in the political arena? She’s been a target and living a life in the public hasn’t been good. Has she accomplished anything in the last 6 years? I really haven’t been keeping up with her public service or is she merely a political consultant?

She has helped a number of tea party candidates to get elected, so I give her credit for fighting the good fight on that count.

But especially with resigning her governorship after 2 1/2 years, I think she should have been building up her policy wonk and international credentials, which she could easily have done by doing some international energy work for a think tank, writing with depth on issues, and building her gravitas image.

Instead, she and her family have done a half-dozen vapid reality shows, she’s spoken really only to hard-core fans in an increasingly cheeky and casual manner, and of course she hasn’t run for office anywhere.

In short, ironically, she has helped the cause, but she hasn’t helped herself—if she aspires to further leadership in office. I still hope she turns it around.
