Jeb Bush speaks up for immigrants as Republicans flock to conservative confab in Iowa
Yahoo! News ^ | January 24, 2015 | Jon Ward

Bush was one of several likely Republican presidential candidates to avoid an event Saturday hosted by immigration hardliner and Iowa congressman Steve King.

When Jeb Bush said that to win the presidential election a Republican candidate might have to lose the primary, he probably had a weekend like this one in mind.

In Iowa, a host of second-tier possible presidential candidates — and a few big names — flocked to the first major event of the Republicans’ 2016 cycle: a cattle call of party speakers hosted by western Iowa congressman Steve King.

King, whose often personal and derogatory criticism of undocumented immigrants has made him a poster child for GOP insensitivity to Latino voters, drew New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Texas governor Rick Perry, and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee to his daylong affair, which was also broadcast nationally on C-SPAN.

The tone, from the outset, was gloomy. America is “mired in darkness,” said David Bossie, a conservative filmmaker and activist who organized the event. Conservative talk show host Jan Mickelson opened the event by saying, “Nobody from Iowa cares a sliver about immigration. All of us came from somewhere. What we do care about is illegal gate crashers.”(continued)

THINGS ANGRY WHITE DUDE WOULD DO BEFORE VOTING FOR JEB BUSH IN ’16

So AWD was thinking of things I’d rather do than vote for Jeb Bush:

Move to Detroit and begin my new rap career as MC Cracka

Have a long makeout session with Whoopi Goldberg with Kenny G playing on the stereo

Invite Michael Moore to my house for dinner

Attend a Alec Baldwin/Susan Sarandon/Sean Penn movie fest

Turn in my guns and join the Brady Foundation

Get a cat for a pet and name him Mr. Mittens

Turn in all my cowboy boots and wear nothing but Birkenstocks with socks

Pull for those comm-a-nist, blue-scumbelly Tarholes from UNC

Sell my family members to be used for medical experiments in North Korea

Accept Allah and start blowing the sh*t out of everything…including my favorite gun range

Excellent point....the term Hispanic is thrown around a lot but truth be known there is a huge difference in Hispanic cultures/politics. Mexico stands out as a wasteland to most, although Telemundo/Univison try to show only the festival side of Mexico....which is far from the truth. Rubio and Cruz are continually shown in a bad light. But depending on the area of the US Hispanics are generally more conservative if they arent in Blue states....Texas is far different the Calif. for example. Overwelming majority of Hispanics in the US are from Mexico, but that doesnt make ALL slimey lowlife vile and disgusting registered Democrats.........

We have too many foreigners of either kind. This country cannot survive half Anglo and half hispanic.

“King, whose often personal and derogatory criticism of undocumented immigrants has made him a poster child for GOP insensitivity to Latino voters...”

A most excellent example of the libspeak! The leftists, in their push for blanket amnesty and a (very short) pathway to citizenship, equate ‘undocumented immigrants’ (illegal aliens) with latino votes, and then pounce on the GOP for being insensitive to those votes.

We would all be better served by politicos who have the courage and strength to stand for their principles and core values, regardless of the opposition.

This is the problem of Jeb Bush, he’s forgotten who he’s supposed to represent. He’s supposed to work for the interests of Americans, not foreigners. And the purpose of immigration is to benefit America, and not be some global social welfare project. This kind of poor judgment needs to be kept far, far away from the White House. We still have two years to go with one anti-American President. Why would Jeb think the American People are just drooling to see this continue?

Sneaky speech. Not only does he conflate immigrants and illegals, he mentions “race” and exclusion. Why say those words if not to imply that anyone who doesn’t think the way he does is a racist or exclusionary?

He also poses as an intellectual by making the fine distinction between children bringing their parents here and adults bring other adults.

When all of this is couched in terms of electability, it punctures the whole argument. If your football team is behind, do you switch sides? I hate that electability argument when it is duplicitously used to bolster one’s position.

He thinks we need illegals to pay our Social Security costs and to start the businesses that Americans won’t start because of all the new regulations. Illegals would probably be exempt from them. It’s the chokehold of the agencies that is killing business.

Sorry Jeb... but we are electing a president not a royal family. Say no to anything Clinton or Bush. My top 5 candidates: 1) Ted Cruz, 2) Scott Walker 3) Sara Palin, 4) Marco Rubio and 5) John Kasich. Also Paul LaPage, Mike Lee, Tim Scott, Mike Pence and Rick Perry would be great, too.

I really don’t want to knock any group of legitimate immigrants, back when I had most of my employees, from Mexico and Guatemala what I noticed is that they were the same as anyone else. For the most part you saw the same percentage of hard workers, just enough to get by and absolute lazy workers as any other group. Another thing I found in the 90’s was that as their children got older they wanted away from the influx of takers and those that couldn’t or wouldn’t improve themselves and they moved their kids out of California as far away as Tennessee.

“and this Bush wants to bring in 100 million Mexicans “

People assume that someone who runs for President is loyal and patriotic. Or at least that someone not named ‘Obama’ will be.

But Dubya put the interests of illegal alien foreign nationals ahead of Americans and tried to ram amnesty through.

And his brother Jeb is even worse.

And he’s pretty typical of the current GOP establishment.
