President Trump? Says 'there's a substantial chance' he'll run & slaps Cruz for being born in Canada
The London Daily Mail ^ | December 16, 2014 | David Martosko

* Trump has kept his spotlight hot and raised smirks by speculating about a White House run, but now he's scheduling speeches in early primary states
* 'A lot of people believe I'm having fun with it, and I enjoy the process,' he said during an Economic Club of Washington event, but 'the country's in serious trouble'
* He lashed out at potential opponents including Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz
* Couldn't come up with a 'single nice thing' to say about Hillary Clinton and insists Sen. Elizabeth Warren will give her serious competition
* Trump has flirted with running for more than a decade but has never pulled the trigger
* One Iowa political consultant says: 'He's a loose cannon with a private jet. I can't wait'

Real estate mogul and 'The Apprentice' star Donald Trump isn't running for president yet, but he is sounding more and more like someone who believes there's a path to the White House opening up before him.

'I can tell you there's a very substantial chance I will (run),' Trump told MailOnline in an interview Monday before he spoke at an event hosted by the Economic Club of Washington.

But 'I don't want to put a number on it,' he said, when asked whether the chance of a Trump candidacy was better than 50-50.

He is, however, lining up support in key early primary states and taking pre-emptive swipes at potential rivals, both classic behaviors of the species POTUS seekus.

Next month Trump will appear at three separate events in Iowa, one of the three marquee states whose Republican voters will anoint a front-runner in the 2016 presidential nomination contest....

Barack wasn’t unknown.

I called my Dad after watching Barry give his speech in 2004 at the DNC and said that guy could be president.

My dad never heard of him and I thought it odd, as he lives in Chicago...

Oh, sure. Trump is “running” again.

;-)

It’s great PR.

I have thoughts that Jeb Bush is doing the same to promote his offshore investment funds.

Did 0bama?

I'm sure Obama disclosed as little financial information as legally possible...

Obama didn't spend his whole life making and cutting deals to build developments...either..

I might add Trump is a white guy so his entire financial life will be turned upside down by the libtards ...he can't cry racism...

Right - and if the MSM had done to 0bama as they did with Romney even going back to when he was 16 in high school, 0bama would have cried racism and all that ...

savage has always been a socialist/democrat far leftist liar fooling conservatives. he's a mole and his bashing and smearing of Cruz and Palin are just 2 examples of his being a leftist mole. he just does this to make millions fooling conservatives and he laughs at them from behind their backs “yeah I'm fooling these conservatives and making millions off of them , making them my slaves and all the while advancing my socialism by occasionally bashing Republicans , Cruz , Palin etc. Ha ha ha ha”

he doesn't fool me .

He should have run for NY State governor- he would have won in a landslide and then could have fixed NY by gutting it completely and lowering taxes and getting rid of the “NY SAFE” act, then he could have waltzed right into the Presidency, which he would have then won in a landslide

I would love it if Cruz were the guy- but If HilLIARy is running for the Dems I think we would lose ONLY by not having a woman.

Think that is stupid? OK - but look how many people got an inexperience d boob into office (twice!) just because he is black.

I would LOVE to see Palin/Cruz- for 16 straight years of conservative bliss.

She ignites far more of a fire than Cruz does. (for the general population - not us freepers) And Reagan managed to get boring Bush elected (he screwed himself up for the second term)

OTOH, he doesn't want to file any financial disclosure papers, so he's never going to run. Just going to troll for attention - again.

And enough to screw up the works for Conservatives.

I understand your thinking and reasoning.
I do think Cruz is 100 times smarter than Hillary and that he would also carry the Latino vote over her, particularly the male Latino vote.

"Fox & Friends" has a phone interview segment with him every Monday and it's entertaining to listen to...but there is no way that Trump will ever be elected President. If he runs, that could create some problems in the primaries, but my guess is that he wouldn't last very long (obviously he would have plenty of money but translating that into votes will be hard).

But he does have a point about Cruz. Cruz wasn't thinking ahead when he chose to be born in Canada. We need Presidents with vision who can think ahead.

The same thing with the guy in there now with Kenya, Rubio with two foreign parents, McCain and Panama, Mitt with Mexico and etc.

Strange. But I bet a lot of people would vote for Trump because he has celebrity value and a celebrity personality.

Cruz is going to have to work on his public persona; Obama’s was and is lousy too, but he got away with it by being half black, so people somehow assumed that his arrogant persona and stilted delivery were just a black thing.

It was George Romney (candidate for the nomination in 1968 until his "brainwashed" remark) who was born in Mexico. Mitt was born in Detroit.

Obama, even if he really was born in Hawaii, is the first President since Woodrow Wilson to have been a citizen of a different country than the US for part of his life (and Wilson's case is debatable).
