“It’s nonsense”: Even Pat Robertson thinks Ted Cruz has gone too far (Now Salon likes Pat?)

Right-wing televangelist thinks the Tea Party senator from Texas needs to tone it down.

It’s come to this: even uber-conservative televangelist Pat Robertson is fed up with Ted Cruz’s rabble-rousing.

Over the weekend, the Tea Party hero teamed up with fellow Sen. Mike Lee of Utah to hold up a spending bill funding most of the government through the fiscal year, protesting that the measure did not defund President Obama’s executive action on immigration. Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, the outgoing majority leader, took advantage of Cruz and Lee’s delaying tactics to push through confirmation votes on several Obama administration nominees.

That particularly irked Robertson, who slammed “this Ted Cruz” for his “bomb-throwing” on “The 700 Club.”

“I tell ya, this Ted Cruz, a lot of people in Texas just think he’s wonderful and I don’t want to rain on their parade but what he did was this, he held the Senate open by his delaying tactics and in the process Harry Reid says, ‘Oh, we’ve got some time, let’s rush through some appointees.’ So they started approving one after the other, left-wing appointments that Barack Obama had made that a more deliberative process would’ve held up, that was what Mr. Cruz gave us,” Robertson said.

“This bomb-throwing stuff and ‘I’ll be a lone wolf and I’m the man in the Senate who is going to be like Jimmy Stewart and I’m just going to Washington to represent the people,’ it’s nonsense,” he added....

Remind me, did Cruz have his father arrange to get him out of fighting in Korea?

I think Ted Cruz is doing exactly the right thing. Along with Lee and a few others. Someone has to stir up the Senate and try to get things on the right track. I think Ted Cruz, at least what he says now, and he has been quite consistent, is doing his best to put some morality into this ‘lawless’ Senate.

Keep throwing bombs, Sen. Cruz. Make them nuclear. DC needs a giant enema.

Just a reminder of what many Freeps were saying about Pat Roberts.

“Nobody should have to hold their nose for Pat! he’s a solid conservative! you should loooove voting for Kansas’ favorite Virginian!”

What a joke

I’m sorta torn on these tactics. Like everyone here, I applaud Cruz for standing up for what’s right and raising a little hell. On the other hand, he needs to build a strong enough base to get things passed and that means not pissing offf those who might otherwise support him when it is avoidable. In short, he’s got to be real good at picking his fights or he’ll end up with too few soldiers on his side.

The knives of the business-as-usual/don’t-rock-the-boat crowd are out. With Cruz/Lee forcing a vote at least we know the enemy is now...on both sides of the aisle. Light is on the traitors to their Oaths.

The majority of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, but if anyone tries to raise the alarm and change course, they are told to get back in line and maintain the status quo.

It is seriously time for some military removal of traitors from Washington. The whole thing is a genocidal setup to destroy the country and sell its citizens into Mexican slavery. Can anything be more evil and contemptible than the Uniparty, Barry and his paid GOP shills.

Ted Cruz has astutely identified the enemy and his tactics are necessary to ensure victory. He never compromises his principles and Senator Cruz stands his ground without wavering or watering down his message of Bible-based Conservatism. In short, he’s not lukewarm.

This is the holy roller Pat Robertson from the 700 Club, not Pat Roberts from Kansas. But they are probably two peas in the same pod.

I’m with you.

A military coup with military tribunals for all these traitors is starting to look better and better.

Robertson is wrong. There was no way Reid wasn’t going to push through those nominees. The whole idea is a charade meant to fool men with the minds of children. We have too many gullible Republicans and sadly many of them are Christians who trust liars too damn much.

Unfortunately his support crew is lacking in guts and conviction. They’re worried about the MEDIA REACTION!!!! Don’t these idiots get it? It’s long past the time to find common ground with the Democrats. They’re destroying the country and sadly too many on our side are helping in that process.

Yes he is. How could anyone believe that Harry Reid was just going to close up shop and leave the remaining nominees in the pipeline to be killed by the Republican congress. Its stupid. Right now what we are also beginning to see is the Presidential pretend stupidity where individuals parrot memes to help wound potential primary candidates they aren’t aligned behind.
