Dear GOP: Do Your Damned Job
Richard Viguerie's Conservative HQ ^ | November 21, 2014 | Steve Deace

Posted on 11/20/2014 10:28:45 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Dear Republican Party,

On November 4th the American people spoke with a resounding voice, and voted “no” to President Obama’s Marxist Progressive agenda/tactics. The numbers show the American people gave you a definitive mandate as well.

Democrats are now at their lowest numbers in state legislatures nationwide in 86 years, and Republicans now control more than two-thirds of the state legislative chambers across the country. Republicans have the most seats in the U.S. House of Representatives since before the Great Depression.

Republicans posted one of the top five election year swings in the U.S. Senate in the past 70 years. For the first time in 58 years there will be Republican governors in Illinois, Maryland, and Massachusetts at the same time.
Over 80% of U.S. geography is now represented by Republicans.

The depth and extent of GOP gains were unforeseen by every pollster and pundit that correctly ” predicted the outcome of the 2014 election. That’s because they failed to see two things:

1) The willingness of the conservative base you’ve been battling in recent years to still turn out and turn the tide in several key races.

2) The American people were far angrier with Obama than they were with Republicans; disregarding the fact your 42% approval rating in the latest Gallup poll is the same as the president’s.

Despite claims from liberal media pundits on election night, 2014 was not an anti-incumbent election. Almost all of the Republican incumbents won. In fact, the only Republican governor who lost was the one who raised the gas tax.

However, defiant as ever, the president has reacted to the 2014 election results by threatening a”nti- constitutional executive amnesty for illegal aliens, appointing an Eric Holder clone to succeed him at his renegade Justice department, and to essentially create an Obamacare for the internet.

Even Obama’s chosen architect for his signature legislation has been caught on camera admitting Obamacare wouldn’t have passed without a lack of transparency from Democrats, and the stupidity of the American people. The Obama Regime is nothing if not shameless.

In spite of this president’s repeated efforts to thwart the rule of law, this is still a representative republic. On November 4th the American people did all they can lawfully do to save themselves from Obamaism. They more then went out of their way to change the direction of the country, even electing Republicans to positions of prominence within deep blue states like the president’s own home. There is nothing more the American people can lawfully do that they haven’t already done.

Now it’s up to you to lead.

See, the American people weren’t just sending a message to Obama, they were also sending a ” message to you. And if you refuse to act upon that message, then you will be guilty of defying the will of the people every bit as much as the Marxist Progressive in the White House.

The message from the American people is clear – stop Obama.

Contrary to the cynical claims of the Obama Regime, the American people are not stupid. Therefore, you cannot run ads nationwide reminding voters Obamacare was on the ballot this year and then not do everything you can to save them from it. You cannot send Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) all over the country to rally a wary conservative base to use this election as a means to stop Obama’s illegal executive amnesty scheme, and then not do so.

Despite your lackluster record, we are trusting you again because the future of the country is at stake and you were our only viable alternative. Sometimes you have to fight wars with the soldiers you have.

It is your solemn duty to come up with the remedies that honor the faith the American people have placed in you, not to mention that upholds your sworn oaths of office to defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

For Obama cannot unilaterally act lawlessly in our system of government. The separation of powers requires fecklessness on your part to permit it to happen.

Forget what your consultants tell you is politically possible. You’re up against an opponent who doesn’t care about possible, let alone legal. And if this is how this president operates when he had to pretend to care what the American people thought, imagine what boundaries he’ll push these final two years when he does not.

You will not be able to outmaneuver or outlast a Progressive who is hell-bent – literally – on winning a Marxist argument with history. You will have to face him and defeat him. This isn’t about the technocratic tactics you too often obsess over. This is about the only tactic that matters now— survival.

Your courage of conviction is required. History is calling on you to hold the line on American Exceptionalism, so there’s enough liberty left for the next president to hopefully start turning the country back to the vision of the Founding Fathers.

Do your damned job, or you may be the generation Ronald Reagan once warned us about. The one who will have to explain to their children and grandchildren what it was once like here when people were still free.

Like it or not Republicans, this is your chosen occupation, and this is where the country is at this point in time. We want our country back so no excuses this time.

Get to work.

Mr. Deace: Good luck trying to convince the Liberal Party wing of the Uniparty to deviate from their destructive course and return to the Constitution.

See, it’s like this. The GOPe beltway types feel sorry for thei embattled Rat brethren (with whom they have more in common that we mere peasants out here in flyover country) so they figured,”why not let them bring in several million new voters, scatter them around the country to ‘help’ out come election time, after all, the fraud alone just isn’t enough anymore.”

Just watch. If they don’t do their job we will have to do ours and it won’t be pretty.

If the GOP doesn't want to do it's job, IF Boehner and McConnell believe it's still business as usual and K-Street calling the shots, they need to be forced back into the reality of either lead or leave the leadership position. Either fix this mess and abide in our Constitution or step aside and let real men take over the house and senate who will.

Their appointed as majority leadership in both house in the upcoming new year makes me wonder about the GOP's resolve to begin repairing the destruction done in the past two decades. This had best not be another 2001-2006 repeat or the GOP will be a party no more. For that matter the nation may not survive it.

The DEMs leadership for the good of the nation needs to have a Goldwater-Baker to Nixon type meeting with Obama and ask for his resignation. If refused go public and demand it. IF the DEMs have any hope whatsoever of getting in the White House in 2016 and at least partially regaining their lost seats it will take this as a first step. That is true even if the GOP doesn't do it's job they have been elected to do. People in both parties are angry and have had quite enough of a couple of narcissist holding this nation in gridlock. This past election showed that.

The GOP senators including my own states too see sawing Moderate Senators Alexander and Corker had better start getting their acts together as well. They need to stop reading the states liberal newspaper Editorials praising them and get busy on decreasing federal powers especially in the executive branch. We need the federal government off our backs. SECURE OUR BORDERS NOW.

This is not a slave/master form of government and government is not the owner of the plantation. No more empty promises. Put the military on our southern border until more BP is hired and trained and the darn wall is built. Give the BP full support they deserve. If fired upon from Mexico authorize an immediate airstrike upon location it came from. That will stop the crap in a hurry. Build a federal prison on the Texas salt flats between ElPaso and Carlsbad NM specifically for felon illegals. Stop sending back felons and lock them up instead.

Shame on you as well Lamar Alexander. The Tennessee Valley power grid will be like California in a decade if you keep supporting the EPA's mandates on coal that are shutting down coal fired power plants. Shut down the EPA NOW!!! Reform the Tax Laws now including elimination of the federal income tax and the IRS. Put our state and local school board back in charge of education. Repeal the Kennedy HMO Act and Obamacare. Eliminate all Czar positions in the Executive Branch. Increase our national defenses immediately.

Uniparty

The elected representatives of the Congressional GOPe are completely unprepared to assume any role in governance because that was not the deal the GOPe made many decades ago when in exchange for a seat at the table where the swag is divided, the party ceded all power to the Democrats in office and in the government bureaucratic infrastructure. The only groups they represent are large donors, and what they have to sell is the ability granted to them by the Democrats to get their "clients" favorable treatment from the agencies that regulate the rest of us much more harshly. This client service has made people like Mitch McConnell, Orrin Hatch, and other "Republican" fellows immensely wealthy. I mean really wealthy. Think $Billions.

So now in the majority, the GOPe is in a quandary. The real people want a return to some semblance of constitutional government. A most awkward situation for the GOPe, the RINOs. Especially since some non GOPe "Republicans" are threatening them and demanding action. Are they supposed to leave millions on the table while they handle the people's business? Right now they are cooking up some sort of pro-forma show of activity while figuring out with their pals across the aisle how to do business as usual, while attempting to subdue the other part of their party.

In regard to the recent election: Team Obama is ignoring the results because they plan to win the next one, merely by turning out their people, who did a rather poor job of showing up this time. Of course, 5 million new "voters" won't hurt. The Democrat base is notorious for not showing for midterms, anyway. In the meantime, Team Obama thinks they can rely on the GOPe to fold during the next two years, going along to get along, until they can get back to their real work.

I reckon we'll see.

They seem more interested in their committee appointments than saving this country. If they do nothing - they will see the reversal of this 2014 election in 2 short years. They will get their butts handed to them and sent packing.

He schmoozes. He protects and advances his position. He thwarts anyone and anything that stands in the way of his personal advancement. He does not lead. He is an obstacle to be overcome.

Article V is the biggest push back we got. It does not even need to happen. It only has to get close and the scum in Washington will give us a watered-down version of what's needed but it will be what's needed.
