Tea party PAC plans announcement with U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts

A national tea party group will hold a news conference in Wichita on Monday with U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, but leaders stopped short of saying whether the group plans to endorse the Republican incumbent.

“It will be an announcement,” said Taylor Budowich, executive director of the Tea Party Express, a California-based group that describes itself as the nation’s largest tea party political action committee.

The news conference, set for 11 a.m. at the Sedgwick County Republican party headquarters in west Wichita, will be attended by Roberts and local tea party leaders and activists, Budowich said.

Earlier this year the group endorsed physician Milton Wolf in his bid to unseat the three-term senator in the state’s Republican primary....

Regardless of the behavior of some, I do look to someone who once wanted my vote, claiming to represent me in DC, then refuses to offer his support to another.

Either you want party support for your candidacy or you don't.

Should Wolf have won the Primary, would he have wanted support from those who are registered voters, would he have felt that even a sore loser opponent owed him his support?

You'd better believe, Wolf would have sought each and every elected GOP member to endorse him, especially if his opponent had been an "independent" claiming to want real change in Washington.

That tells me, Wolf never was genuine in his search for the position, never genuine in wanting to represent me - but really wanting the job for his own prestige but not the responsibility of party leadership.

Someone asked me on Friday, if I'd seen him anywhere in Johnson County and all I could honestly say, "No, not even at church."

Should Wolf have won the primary, the GOPE would have tried to defund him, McConnell would use his office and influence to defund him. High Republican officials would have refused to endorse him too.

Despite the departure of many, many conservatives from this site, Free Republic remains the largest and most influential conservative presence on the internet. But, even here, guys like you are a distinct minority - angry voices shouting nonsense. When you can’t even convince the members of this forum to support you. how do you expect to win a single election? You can claim that but having been around in KS and Johnson County particularly for many years, I've seen as conservative "upstarts" (one that I worked long and hard go get into office) have defeated RINOs in the past and if anything like that happened on even a small scale, it never worked around here.

We KS conservatives have worked a long time to get our true conservatives elected and if Wolf is really sincere in that effort, he'll get no further support by refusing to support his opponent. This happened some time ago with a conservative who lost out to a RINO in another big race and refused to attend a breakfast the next morning and shake hands with the winner of that Primary. Where is that candidate today - nowhere!!!

Even those who lose out in hard fought races are still expected to do the right thing, whether the other side does it or not.

Nope, Wolf has only a couple of days in which to get back into this race and support Roberts, regardless of how he feels. If Roberts loses out to Orman, Wolf will NEVER get support of the party in his future, no matter what!!!

That kind of pity party is juvenile, childish and poor sportsmanship and any candidate who behaves like this might have a few of his supporters stand behind him but no one else in the party will do so and we will remember who worked hard for the defeat in a general election and hands the leadership back to Harry Reid (or potentially does so.)

That only proves he was never a serious candidate anyway.

In 1988, George H. W. Bush ran for President promising to continue Regan’s conservative course. Consequently, Bush was elected by a landslide. Bush lied. Bush was the epitome of establishment Republicans.

In 1992, Bush ran for re-election. Conservative voters either stayed home or were suckered into voting for Ross Perot (a liberal whack job pretending to be conservative). Consequently, Clinton was elected President, but we sure showed those establishment Republicans.

In 1996, the Republicans nominated Bob Dole, another epitome of establishment Republicans, because it was his turn. In WWII Dole was a legitimate war hero, but had always been a moderate to liberal Senator. Once again, conservative voters either stayed home or were suckered into voting for Perot (less than last time, but enough to turn the election). Consequently, Clinton was re-elected President, but once again we sure showed those establishment Republicans.

In 2000, the Republicans nominated George W. Bush, a “compassionate conservative” (i.e., another moderate establishment Republican). Once again, a lot of conservative voters stayed home. Consequently, Al Gore was almost elected President (he won a majority of the popular vote), but once again we really showed those establishment Republicans.

In 2004, Bush was re-elected President. I have no doubt that the only reason Bush was re-elected was because enough conservatives realized how close we had come to having President Al Gore on 9/11 that the thought of President Kerry scared them enough not to stay home. Certainly, Bush did not win re-election based on his tax and spend “compassionate conservative” policies.

In 2008, the Republicans nominated John McCain, another epitome of establishment Republicans, because like Dole in 1996, this time it was his turn. Again like Dole, McCain was a legitimate war hero, but a moderate to liberal Senator. Once again, conservative voters stayed home, this time in droves. Consequently, Obama was elected President and the Democrats got filibuster proof majorities in the House and Senate. Sure the Democrats got complete control over the federal government and could do whatever they wanted, but this time we really showed those establishment Republicans.

In 2012, the Republicans nominated Mittens Romney, another epitome of establishment Republicans. Once again, conservative voters stayed home. Once again, Obama was elected President and the Democrats kept control of the Senate, but once again we really showed those establishment Republicans.

I will do whatever I can to get a conservative candidate to vote for in 2016. I hope and pray that we get one, because if not then I don’t think our nation can survive. If we get another RINO, then I will vote against Hillary and for the RINO, because I prefer to stay alive a little longer on life support and keep trying than to give up, pull the plug and die. Frankly, if we show those establishment Republicans that we mean business one more time, I don’t see how we will make it another four years.

Unfortunately, Wolf joins the long list of so called Tea Party Candidates who have disappointed those many conservatives who have supported them financially and politically. He turns out to have been a phony, incapable of winning, and certainly incapable of serving.

We are seeing in the general election that Roberts is vulnerable and we had a chance to replace him with a conservative candidate who could help move this state forward. Instead, we got a nobody who had nothing more than a few purloined conservative slogans and some empty promises. This has become a pattern. A Tea Party that isn’t really a party at all, has no organization, can’t select candidates, and cant’ groom candidates does nothing but attract the swindlers who ride into town and promise to bring the rain. When they ride out of town, we have no rain and our pockets have been picked.
