One of the biggest surprises on the midterm campaign trail is hearing President Obama echo President Reagans famous question by asking voters whether you are better off than you were four years ago.
The question is the hammer in Obamas toolbox for nailing down his Democratic majority in the Senate in this years midterm election.
By almost every economic measure, we are better off today than we were when I took office, the president said in a Sept. 19 speech to the Womens Leadership Forum, sponsored by the Democratic National Committee.
Speaking to a Labor Day rally of union workers in Milwaukee, he also pointed to Americas improved economic performance over the last five years. You wouldnt know it from watching the news, he lamented.

Who says reeducation isn’t working only thinking people are punished.
Gasoline is almost twice as much per gallon as when Obama became President.
...and on top of that the Highway trust fund is broke so no matter how much gas we buy it will be tough to rebuild because we are using less and vehicles are more fuel efficient. The only solution is a citizen bailout of government. They spend it, we supply more, until we can’t or won’t.
