Who is we? NY Times and the left may be talking about it. But I don’t hear any conservatives talking about Mitt.
Why are “we” talking about Mitt Romney?
Because he has the credentials that the NYT is looking for. Mitt s a proven LOSER. Perfect!!!
Welp, there it is. Quite possibly the dumbest thing I have read all day. How much are the RINO's paying you?
You just made me throw up in my mouth.
When I did the hiring of new employees for my company, I pretty much ignored “experience”. Instead I had prepared a written test for prospective employees. I was looking for intelligence and ability to learn fast. Worked out great. Every single time!
You’ll get sued into the poorhouse if you try that today.
Business decisions are not easy, especially when they involve large sums of money and potential layoffs. Like politicians, businessmen have to make tough decisions because they've got shareholders and employees to think about.
Exactly, which is why we do not need more lawyers running the country. They are responsible for loss of our dominance in science and industry.
USA has 10 times more lawyers per person compared to most other industrialized countries. It is time to look for politicians who are not lawyers.
The time-tested milquetoast GOP establishment recipe for how never to win anything that actually matters even when you win an election.
Douthat thinks Rubio’s 2016’s establishment candidate. We’ll see...
It’s the government bureaucrats, not just lawyers, who did that. As far back as 1988 I remember having to go through employer applications at the unemployment office to find illegal questions and deep six the blank apps. This isn’t a recent problem. You were lucky not to have a lawsuit land in your lap.
Jeeze, you guys are rough. There is no clear cut guy right now. If no one emerges, it’ll probably be Romney. That’s not an endorsement. It’s just a statement of fact. If a governor or someone figures out a way to step into the light, Romney be pushed aside. But, I’ll let you speak, if no one emerges, who will be our nominee? I say Romney. Who do you see?
I agree with you that Dr Carson is an unknown quantity at this stage. However, he has actually accomplished some great things in his life. Versus Obama who has never created a single useful service or product. I have to know a lot more about Ben Carson about his ability to run a campaign before I can support him.
And so it seems to me, at least, to be a decent opportunity to veer not right, necessarily, but in the direction of a smaller, less intrusive government a la the Tea Party, and the vitriolic reaction on the part of both media and GOPe mandarins appears to bear out that they recognize the flow but are resisting it rather than swimming in it. Can the latter move with the times, or are they so vested in their comfortable Beltway insularity that they think they can dictate a candidate that is correctly postured but impossibly positioned?
That sort of bland, piss-off-as-few-people-as-possible-and-pander-to-the-rest approach gave us 0bama. The Left is currently trumpeting how well it works in the generous advice they dispense toward the conservative side, which means simply that they know full well that it won't work. But the GOPe falls for it, over and over and over and over...
I was hiring engineers and technicians and computer programmers. Every one of them understood why a technical test was the appropriate test for a technical job. My tests had nothing to do with race, religion or gender. Any judge with an ounce of brain would have thrown at a frivolous law suit.
There are bout 330 million people in this country. Many of them are much more accomplished than Mr. Obama. Why are we singling out one random physician? Because he’s black? That’s what got us into this mess in the first place.
Bulls**t. Your company would’ve been millions of dollars poorer and you’d have been out of a job, at best. I’ve been in some facet of HR since the mid 80’s. I hope that company isn’t playing that game in the present day.
It’s because Mitt Romney has bunches of bucks and is paying for his own campaign. Today I received FIVE emails from his campaign. I had been receiving three a day for the last month, but apparently he felt he’d throw in another million or so and buy more mailings. He has clearly bought every GOP list in the universe.
He’s running hard, and nobody else has even started, so that creates the impression that he’s ahead.
Don’t discount Romney’s money. That’s what’s doing it. My email inbox (well, at any rate, the “Trash”) is full of Romney mailings.
This leads me to believe that Romney wasn't strong enough to stand up to his backers and consultants, and not willing to broaden his reach to help Republicans take back the Senate.
