The guy that ran the 1984 LA Olympics actually made money using free market principles.

Sort of, I guess.

But Peter Ueberroth (who did get some federal money for the 1984 Olympics) was involved from the beginning in organizing and financing the games.

Romney stepped in to take over a botched operation that was far behind its fundraising goals.

If the preparations for the Salt Lake City Olympics had been well-organized from the beginning maybe the federal contribution could have been less.

So it's not really the fairest of comparisons.

That is just the question that Mark Levin asked yesterday. Because Dr. Ben Carson has never held public office makes it obvious he will never be the nominee--despite the movie Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (2009).

I disagree. They've learned that constitutional conservatives want to change the power equation in DC. The GOP establishment doesn't care if they lose, as long as they get the benefits of being the minority that gets to play the game. Romney did them proud last time, didn't rock any boats and kept conservatives at bay by choosing fake conservative Chamber of Commerce guy Ryan as his VP.

We're the enemy, not the Dems who they play the game with them just fine.

You could say the same for Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Ronald Reagan, Calvin Coolidge, etc., etc. Don’t pull two failed Democrats out of your pocket and ignore successful presidents. We’ve never elected a president that didn’t have a track record and there’s a reason for that.

I told people here in 2012 that while Mitt might be a nice guy, he was the wrong guy to run against Obama because you needed a clear, concise, energizing person that would go for the jugular against Obama or get beat and I got berated here on FR for saying I saw Obama winning because of Mitt

May be the country needs a strong medicine instead of more onerous laws.

Nobody knows what Carson really believes. As a doctor, he's never had to vote for or against any legislation. People who project their views on Carson are engaging in wishful thinking.
