Sarah Palin To Campaign for Pat Roberts in Kansas Amid Lingering Grassroots Anger
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | September 23, 2014 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Sarah Palin will campaign for incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) in Independence, Kansas on Thursday. Roberts is in need of help from the Tea Party favorite, as recent polls show he trails independent Greg Orman in this fall's general election.

Last week, the Kansas State Supreme Court granted Democratic nominee Chad Taylor's request to be removed from the ballot, setting up a two-person race between Roberts and Orman.

Roberts defeated Tea Party challenger Dr. Milton Wolf in the August 5 Republican primary by a relatively narrow margin of 47% to 41% in a bitterly personal contest that left many grassroots activists in Kansas disgusted with the heavy handed tactics of the Republican establishment. Roberts was hurt by Wolf's attacks on his residency claims, a weakness that may have sparked the strange turn of events that led to the withdrawal of Taylor and the rise in the polls of Orman.

The question is how far Palin's appearance in Kansas on behalf of Roberts will go to bring the embittered grassroots back to the Republican side....

Roberts secured less than 50% of the vote of his party.

What a ringing endorsement of a sitting Senator.

That “drunken brawl” story that was covered extensively by every media outlet on Earth sure hurt her, didn’t it? LOL

What if Roberts retires within a year of the election and the Gov appoints a young conservative to hold the seat in the interim?

Apparently Sarah sees this possibility.. and gets to tell the GOPe: YOU LOSE. First by having to call me in, second by a real conservative replacing your boy.

She's there because she wants to dump Reid.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Be careful what you wish for. GOP controlled Senates have been disasters. They cave to libs every time. Remember when Daschel and the Dems had control by only 1-2 seats? They shoved their agenda down our throats.

Now remember when Trent Lott and the GOPe had control with 51 seats? Lott “power shared” with Daschhole and the Dems and again got lib crap shoved down our throats.

Remember Majority Leader Bill Frist? Great heart surgeon but was spineless. He only persued Dem-lite legislation.

Remember Congress being in GOPe control in 2004-2007? Even with a GOPe president they increased spending, enacted No Child Left Behind, created Medicare Part D and BANNED THE DAMN 100 WATT INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULB!

Yeah, we need the Senate really bad. People who only care about an R after someone’s name might but as a conservative I do not. Been burned too many times with RINO’s in charge.

Both Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney showed up to help Joni Ernst and a couple of other candidates.

Romney disgusts me but if he’s actually willing to help a conservative, I’m not going to complain too much.

I bet newspapers of the day said the same thing about those crazy Whigs wanting to leave the party and start their own called Republicans.

BINGO!

Ted Cruz for President!

I support the Senate Conservatives Fund!

Your past recollections are true: however, we elected a Marxist Muslim twice in more recent history that has damn near destroyed America, to refresh your memory.

And there was no Cruz back then. Sarah is doing this for Cruz, believe it. Not for Roberts.

I love the “conservatives” who want Orman to win and hand the Senate to Harry Reid and Obama. Cuz, you know, that will teach those RINOS a lesson. LOL!

Listen, I don’t like Pat Roberts either. But I hate Harry Reid, Obama and the corrupt media.

And the media would laugh and mock us for years if Reid kept the Senate thanks to Kansas.

Screw them. Go Sarah!

Been burned too many times with RINO’s in charge.

Does that mean that you prefer the Democrats and Mr. Reid?

I doubt it since the republicans were made up of abolitionist Whigs and Democrats with the Freesoil party providing a catalyst.

Exactly, baby steps. This mess didn’t happen overnight and it won’t be fixed overnight either. We can’t throw out the baby with the bathwater and let the liberals keep Harry Reid in power.

One good thing about Sarah coming, it is driving the libtards insane on local message boards.

the entire GOP-E will owe her a debt of gratitude!

Which I'm sure they will repay just as soon as the "Republican" Senate passes a bill to repeal Obamacare.

In other words, the Twelfth of Never.

She is there because she understands the nature of recapturing the Senate. I have never been a Palin big fan, but she is absolutely right about this.

If we want change, do it after winning.

Hey, Fledermaus: the Primaries Are Over. It is what it is.

Do you want to take back the Senate or NOT?

Could you give us a short summary of the specificat Roberts transgressions?

I have heard that his votes on cloture are less than perfect but that’s about it. Heritage ranks him right up with Ted Cruz which makes no sense.
