I won't vote for a liberal 'lesser evil' republican.

But I've been saying that for over a decade.

This election is the GOP-E's to lose.

I despise non-conservatives.

If they're truly conservative, I'll vote for them.

If they're not conservative -- or worse, pretend-conservatives -- I'll spit on them.

Figuratively.

Tired of being used. Not a Conservative, I won’t vote. I don’t care WHO the Dims run, I’ve been done with that “lesser evil” thing for awhile. Evil is evil.

I would vote for an epileptic monkey before Bush or Christie - in the primary. In the main event, anyone running against the fascist/socialist ‘rats.

How'd that work out with McPain and Romney?

Rinse, lather, repeat.

The Whigs have learned nothing.

Great article.

“Will the GOP ever actually be the “party of small government” or is it destined to remain a “big government of another kind” party?

The neoconservatives and DC GOP establishment would prefer the latter. They are not interested in a smaller government at all. They are interested in a big government which has a different emphasis than the one the Dems prefer. For them “small government” is nothing but a talking point (and one which they don’t even use that much any more) to placate the rubes who in their view can be placated by such talk.”

The establishment thought it could wait out the insurgents. That before long the small government folks would be brought into the fold. But for the most part they haven’t been. Now the last ditch is getting one of their guys, Bush, Christie or one of the lower tier but establishment acceptable candidates into the White House. If the neocons and DC establishment GOP have a president which tows the line the Tea Party will have no choice but to tow it right with him.

I don't think the GOPe WANTS the presidency. Having the presidency would make them accountable for results. I think they think it's more pleasant and profitable to play ball with the Dems as the pseudo-opposition party. To maintain the PRETENSE of opposing the Dems, while not really doing any thing to stop their agenda, much less roll any part of it back.

They get more money from the base when they are on the outside whining about how they need more campaign money so they can defeat those evil Dems.

It’s like when you were a kid and your shoes wore out and your mom put a piece of limoleum inside to cover the hole in the sole and maybe get a little more ware out of it before you toss them in the trash. senario.

The neocons have defined the GOP agenda both domestically and abroad for 2 generations now.
And here's the problem.

The majority of so-called neoconservatives are actually Scoop Jackson Democrats.

This is probably the best summary I've read about the situation in the Republican Party. In a way, putting the information together like that, it's encouraging. If a lapdog to the globalist, anti-constitutional conservative Republicans is nominated, that person will lose. And that would be for the best.

Why? Look what happened to the dems. They thought with Obama they'd have an anti-war, improve the cities president. When Obama turned out to be a war-mongerer who can read a teleprompter somewhat well but can't think, the antiwar movement stopped existing. If we get a neo-com sellout Republican President, that would be more stifling to a majority of 'pubs being constitutional conservatives in the HOR, even gaining some traction in the Seunate. We constitutional conservatives will be better off as a vocal voice against hillary or whatever than as a cheering squad for Jeb, Christie, or whatever member of the club they try to sneak by us. I'll only vote for a Repbulican nominee who has a voting record and has shown the correct instincts in speaking about fast-moving events.

Either way, maybe we'll see the end of the neocom globalist/anti-US citizen wing of the Republican Party.
