“The real mystery is why anyone thinks Romney has a chance to win. He has been running for President for about half his life, at least that is the way it seems. So far he has managed to garner between ten and twelve percent nationwide popularity. Outside of New England it’s probably much lower than that.”

Exactly right. And don’t forget that if he somehow slithers in and becomes the nominee, the Obama billion dollar machine will have a field day making multiple ads with Romney in his own words debating himself. I don’t know if there’s ever been a candidate with so much transparent dishonesty in his positions.

I would argue that Romney is actually the only candidate that is a guaranteed loser against Obama (okay, we can ad Ron Paul in there too). The rest are more conservative and don’t have mile-long records of flip-flops. I just don’t know how the GOP elite can be so blind to all these facts staring them right in the face.

That's easy.

The GOP elite would rather lose the WH and keep control of the party, than have a Tea Party candidate win the WH and with it control of the Republican Party.

The GOP elite care only about their own phony-baloney jobs in the party. They do not care about America or the rights and freedoms of its citizens.
