Let's draft Governor Sarah Palin for President!
Change.Org ^ | November 27, 2010

America needs a strong, independent, common-sense conservative to lead us out of the recession, the weakness of the current administration and the way the elites have squandered our economy, foreign policy and tax money. That person is Sarah Palin.

Governor Palin was mentioned in 2008, in fact, (on Fox) in relation to being on the short list in the running for the VP position before McCain picked her. After he chose her, the MSM, the tabloids, etc. took off after her with a vengeance. She had distinguished herself in Alaska on her own merits, unlike Hillary, who for the most part at that time had pretty much only distinguished herself due to the fact that she had once slept with, and was sort of married to, Bill Clinton.

+++ I liked Hunter a lot. The press treated him horribly. IIRC, he walked on to the set of a morning news show bcuz they kept blowing him off. He was probably the most conservative in the race. There were many who stayed in the race long after they should have left and Hunter should have been given a fair chance.
***Then you’ll have no second thoughts about supporting Palin, once you decide. She’s a fire-in-the-belly conservative with name recognition.

Nothing like cleaning house - FR isn't a rino stomping ground

I am utterly astounded that there are so many people like you who think anyone who doubts Palin can get elected is a "RINO". If you feel like that, you are full of dooky. Also, it is funny how some of you even assume that a doubter must be for slimeball Romney or Fatty McHuckabeepants. WRONG. I will fight for Sarah and I will vote for her and I will contribute to her regardless or any circumstance, but only because she is a true conservative. However, I also support my family members through thick and thin even when I know they are not always going to come out on top of whatever they are involved with. Just stop with the label throwing.

That was the famous bugzapper thread. Tons of longtime freepers committed freepercide because JimRob was saying this is a conservative site. Nearly all those freepercides used tactics similar to your above-it-all approach, among others. So now that you’re aware of the hornet’s nest, try not to disturb it as you make your candidate decisions.

What Gator said was, “Some of these PDS folks better start to come around or pack up.”

What you responded with was, “I am utterly astounded that there are so many people like you who think anyone who doubts Palin can get elected is a “RINO”. “

But that isn’t what he said. You’re engaging in mind reading, a fallacy. How do you know what he thinks, especially if you don’t appear to be directly apprehending what he wrote? If you’re a PDSer, you deserve what he says. If you ain’t, then what’s the problem? If you doubt Palin’s electability, then state your case and present someone else who’s a more conservative candidate with better name recognition.

But before you do, why don’t you walk through JimRob’s definition of conservative (highlighted on the main page in red lettering) to see if it applies to you, or if you’re just a RINO...

Although Governor Palin would have my vote if the election were held today, I believe a PURE Republican Primary could uncover a hidden gem.

and how dare you proclaim that people that think like me are “PDS morons..sissy freaks”.
***He did not say that people who think like you are that way. He said “Some of these PDS folks better start to come around or pack up.” If that applies to you, then you’re a PDSer and you deserve it. If that does not apply to you, then you have no basis for getting upset.

A person can agree to the strictist definition of a conservative, AND STILL not believe that a true conservative can get elected. You are correct, I don’t know what anyone else thinks, but there are thousands of posts which loudly label people RINOs, just because a slight doubt has been expressed as to Palin’s electibility. I am a conservative, and I should not have to defend that fact because I read some tea leaves a little different than someone else.

I believe a PURE Republican Primary could uncover a hidden gem.
***I agree.

Here’s how I think primaries should be organized:

My suggestion is basically to hold the first primary in the state that has the highest percentage of GOP votes in the last election, the 2nd primary in the 2nd highest, and so on. 2 primaries a week for 25 weeks, with the last primaries being the suckup-to-the-democrats. And the democrats could easily have their primary schedule the same way, if they wanted.

This way, if a state is 60% republican, there is still incentive for them to get out the vote for 61% republican so they can bump up their state in the primary schedule.

Also: Rotate all the states (even the big ones) through an early schedule so that everyone gets access at some point to the front line.

OR

Let each state bid when they want their primary to take place. The earlier the primary, the fewer the delegates they control according to some logarithmic or steep curve formula.

Second thing is the order of the primaries should be determined by the percentage of republicans in the last vote. The higher the %pubbie, the sooner the state appears on the primary schedule, with a mix of big & little states and our staunchest republican states get to go FIRST. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1965735/posts?page=862#862

***Not on this thread.

So why don’t you walk through the definition of conservative and see how it applies to you? Post it on your home page here on FR. When someone calls you a RINO, just point them to the page & tell them to get lost.

I have a reply. I will post it later. Cannot right now. But wanted to take enough time to say that for at least being civil, unlike others.

More later.

Why don't those who say less than positive things about Sarah Palin use their time and efforts to educate FR on the overwhelming positive attributes of ANYONE they would like to see become a Presidential Candidate?

Since when do freedom loving people have to create a defense of their beliefs just because some wackos are to quick with labels and definitions? Would you like me to wear a yellow star on my chest? Should I get gassed because I don’t think Palin can get elected? Please don’t question my conservative credentials, and I won’t question your sanity.

What? Because she dosen’t “inspire some people” she isn't qualified give me a break

Tell me who your pick is George, because everyone who comes on FR has opinions about Sarah's qualifications but never said who they would approve as our candidate. We have less than two years before the next election and still have not found our standard bearer.
