Below is a list of President Bush's pro-life efforts and accomplishments in regard to protecting children in the womb and promoting the sanctity of life. I include some accomplishments in other areas but mostly focus on his pro-life record. This list is by no means comprehensive. When considering other issues much more could be added to the list of positive things that Bush has done since he has been in office. I started to compile this list shortly after the President was reinaugurated after hearing from many, who consider themselves pro-life, that Bush was not really pro-life. I disagreed and...

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Aug 28, 2003 (AP WorldStream via COMTEX) -- A Baghdad mother and father, to show their thanks to U.S. President George W. Bush for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, have named their son after the American leader. Had the couple had twin boys, they say, the would have named them George Bush and Tony Blair. The new George Bush - probably the only one in Baghdad - was born six weeks ago to Nadia Jergis Mohammed, 34, and her husband Abdul Kader Faris, 41. "I tell you all Iraqis hated Saddam's regime. It was only George Bush who...

Reagan Won 49 State Landslide with only 58% Job Approval In trying to determine the correlation between job approval ratings and Presidential elections, I looked at historical archives of Gallup (and other) Presidential Job Approval data. In 1984, Ronald Reagan won a landslide 525 electoral votes, winning 49 states with only a 58% approval on the eve of election. Here are some approval numbers of other presidents on the eve of their respective elections: President Polling Date(s) Approval Rating B.J. Clinton 10/26-29/1996 54 George H.W. Mar. 18, 2003 A Jerusalem hotel has decided to honor the US president's commitment to bring an end to the regime of Saddam Hussein and has temporarily changed its name to the "George W. Bush Hotel" on Tuesday. A statement released by the former Jerusalem Gold hotel said that in light of Bush's decision to launch the war on Iraq, they were saluting the "leader of the free world." Hotel owner Ariel Shameda-Doron said that as far as he knows this is the first place in the world to be named after the current US president. A large sign reading...

Saving Black BabiesAbortion has cost 13 million African American lives.By Sheryl Blunt in Washington | posted 01/10/2003 Growing up in inner city Detroit, Janine Simpson and her girlfriends didn't think twice about having abortions. In her all-black neighborhood, teen abortions were the norm, she says, and the local abortion clinic was a fixture. "My friends and I, we all had abortions," Simpson says. "We didn't even think about it. To us it was just getting rid of a blob of tissue. We'd say, 'Oh, you pregnant? Okay, let's go take care of it.' " But after Simpson's own abortion her...

September 11 Memorial Tribute NASA honors the memory of the lives lost and those forever changed by the events that occurred on September 11, 2001. As citizens of this nation, NASA employees grieve with our neighbors, friends and relatives as we face the one year anniversary of September 11. Working daily with the harsh reality of life outside the protection of this planet, we perhaps took for granted the fragility of "safety" at home. In the aftermath of the events last September, we awoke to a new appreciation for our flag and our fellow man. We drew together as a...

CATHOLICS NEED NOT APPLY The US Senate is a place where legislation goes to die. The US House of Representatives has passed over 50 pieces of legislation with overwhelming bipartisan support and the US Senate has not acted on them. The US Senate also has the duty to give their advise and consent on Judicial nominees. There is a Judicial Emergency in that over 20% of the Federal Bench is vacant. The backlog of cases denies justice to everyone with cases before the Federal bench. People need to have confidence in the impartiality of the Justice System as well as...

God bless those Brits (love them, hate them). Despite spending most of their time fretting over whether Tony sniffs George's ass too much or whether Tony gives it to Cherie too much or whether Charles or Wills will be the next Queen of England, they still have time to focus on the absurd. According to the BBC, a British bookmaker is giving 6-1 to odds that actor Michael Douglas will one day become President of the United States. You see Michael, like most self-important, self-deluded, self-gratifying, liberal Hollywood types, fancies himself more than a guy who makes a living kissing Glenn...

Disarming Dubya by Jennifer King, Senior Editor February 8, 2002 "The Heretical Housewife" Although never a big TV watcher, I’ll confess that since September 11th, I’ve had FOX News (logo, right) on just about 24/7. Primarily for two reasons. One, so I never miss the delightful Rummy doling out verbal spankings to the uninformed media hacks. Two, so that I can catch the wonderful speeches that Dubya has been making at a variety of venues across the nation. These speeches follow virtually the same gameplan, and yes, Dubya does still mangle his syntax on a fairly regular basis. However, ...

The Washington Hilton staff had to bring out extra tables to accommodate the overflow crowd at commentator Cal Thomas's dinner for the media Wednesday night. The dinner is an annual event on the eve of the National Prayer Breakfast, and it has grown in popularity to the point where the turnout itself is significant. Nearly 200 people showed up, roughly half of them practicing journalists.

Rumsfeld Rumblings January 31, 2002 One of the many Freepers [swheats] who follows the Rummy news suggested an FR feature that consolidates the daily SecDef's news coverage. Today Rumsfeld gave a major speech on Military Transformation at the National Defense University, so it is an apt time to intiate the 'Rumfeld Rumblings' feature. So enjoy yourselves, send feedback for improvements, and please excuse my basic HTML. Today's pixs: Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, accompanied by Central Command Commander Gen. Tommy Franks, gestures during a news conference at the National Defense University in Washington Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002. Rumsfeld ...

Bush believes the war on terrorism has a spiritual dimension. George Bush took a lot of criticism when in a Republican primary debate in Iowa — two years and ages ago — he said that his favorite political philosopher was Jesus Christ. Liberals jumped on him for a supposedly nascent violation of the separation of church and state. Even some conservatives knocked him for such an unreflective answer and one that had nothing to do with public life. I thought the critics were over-wrought, but shared some of the worries about Bush personalizing everything. Only now do I realize how ...
