The shooting of a 20-year-old Anne Arundel County man, by an FBI agent Friday evening screams for explanation, yet there isn't one given us. How come?
Joseph Charles Schultz of Orchard Beach was shot in the face with a round from an M4 assault rifle after the car in which he was riding, driven by his 16-year-old girlfriend, was pulled over on Fort Smallwood Road near Marley Neck Boulevard by FBI plainclothes agents in unmarked cars. He's in serious condition, wondering why representatives of the federal government so grievously injured him.
We do know the G-Men were looking for a bank robbery suspect. We don't know anything more, though we can assume the stop that resulted in the shooting was a case of mistaken identity. The FBI and local law enforcement officials have simply refused to discuss any of the details.
They wouldn't comment yesterday on how this mistake happened, why Krissy Harkum?s car was targeted, or what bank robbery was involved in the incident. They won't say who the FBI agent was or what his status is after the shooting.
The Baltimore Sun account this morning also reported that neither the FBI nor Anne Arundel County police could say how long the investigation into this incident will take.
Was it an accident? Did the rifle-toting agent who did the shooting have any reason to pull the trigger? Did he (or she) accidentally discharge the weapon? Was the wounding of Mr. Schultz an accident, an unfortunate response to some movement he might have made, or a crime?
Maybe some day we'll have a better idea, maybe not. The FBI says it won't comment as long as the investigation continues. Or, I would maintain, until they can figure out some ?plausible deniability.? Local cops are held to a high standard of accountability for misconduct, while any number of cases in recent years, such as the bloody end to the siege of the Branch Davidians in Waco and the killing of Randy Weaver's wife and son at Ruby Ridge, both by FBI assault teams, have tended to fuel suspicions that federal agents can do to us whatever they damned well please.
Who knows, they might conclude that the wounding of this Eagle Scout was just another case of collateral damage in the war on terrorism. We eagerly await some answers.
Just what do you suppose they're doing with the time since the accident -
- hoping that all will be forgotten and swept under the bureaucratic rug?
This idiot Fibbie needs to do a stretch of prison time,(personally I hope he's assigned to a cell with some lifer who has a raging case of herpes) and then have everything he has, and everything he ever will have stripped from him in a civil suit.
Maybe then a few of the brighter FBIs employees will at least attempt to learn the basic rules of firearms safety.

You were hoping for what, a midget/donkey/hermaphrodite thread instead? No, you were hoping for exactly what this thread is, so you could bastardize/baptize it an "anti-cop" thread.
There's a hell of alot of difference between being anti-LEO and being anti-the bullshit that happened in this story. You don't really give a damn however, as long as it gives you the opportunity to see your swill in print. Your chubby is showing again.
Last I read here on FR was that the brave murderer, Lon Horiuchi, was hiding under his bed at the Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and wouldnt come out. Hes afraid that somebody is going to shoot him as he shot Mrs. Weaver and her baby in cold blood.
M, A boy got shot in the back awhile back while laying face down on his bedroom floor. Things are not looking good for the home team. Peace and love,George.
Feds are different huh? How many Feds do know?
Secondly you are defending MarkW who has claimed that not only is denouncement of this action unconservative, but it makes everyone who does so the moral equivalent of Charles Manson.
It doesn't surprise me that you have taken that position. It does surprise me though that you're trying not to own up to it. Generally you have no qualms with equating people to murderous thugs when it suits your purpose.
The FBI and local law enforcement officials have simply refused to discuss any of the details.
No doubt hatching a good cover story, probably some variation on that old saw "we thought he was going for a gun..."
And people wonder why nobody believes LEOs other than their fellow LEOs.
You are so right! No "public servant" or bureaucrat who screws up should be defended by the taxpayers.
How does the boss/management handle an accident out where you work?
Do you string people up right after somebody does something stupid -
- or do you investigate it first THEN based on facts make a decision as to disciplinary action?
There's a cover-up in play already as evidenced with this much delay in naming the shooter. It's gotta' be the boss lady herself!
Will "W" let her swing, or is he going to protect her?
Most of the people on "this forum" that you're pointing your butt scratcher at, have been here way longer than you have. "This forum" is full of decent Americans who would like to see accountability from our federal agents when they're running around suburbia with weapons of war.
If you don't like "this forum" take your statist ass back to wherever it flew in from. Trust me, we'll do just fine without you.
Congratulations. Due to your vacuous idiotic attempts to link concerned citizens with mass murderers, you've just received an honorary membership to this organization.
I'm generally pro-law enforcement, but it looks like someone did a VERY bad thing here. If the facts of this shooting are as reported, that person (or those persons) need to pay.
We are tolerating this as well. Yes, we are mad. Yes, we will yell and scream about it online. But, where are the masses of citizens standing outside the local police department demanding answers? Where are the ones sitting outside the local FiBi offices demanding answers? Who has even emailed this to President Bush or John Ashcroft demanding answers?
My point is that, until the sheeple wake up and START demanding answers and demanding them in a big way, this will continue. The midnight raids, the shooting of innocent civilians both adults and children, and the confiscation of personal property for little or no reason. I also know that, as far as this has already gone, there is little or no chance that we will actually GET any answers. Does that mean that we should settle for that? Does that mean that we should just "suck it up and move along"? I hope not.
Yes Travis, the brownshirts are out again in force. I thoroughly believe that they have been slowly taking over the legitimate law enforcement agencies and driving out the "good cops" for quite some time now. What we are seeing today is just the acceleration of that process as they have become bolder from their successes. And, just as history reports having happened the last time, most will either cower in the dark, afraid of making themselves a target, or pass it off as "none of my business".
Not pointing the finger at anyone here (except for Dane and MarkWar, but that is a different finger), just a general observation and rant.
Makes me sick to watch it.
Ruck
It's my day job to know these things. A senior member of our county bar won a significant civil judgment against the Secret Service for a head-on against a deputy sheriff. The feds lie, and that includes deputy U.S. Attorneys, whose misconduct in Oregon led to a law there making them subject to bar discipline for violations of the rules applicable to all attorneys.
You are one vile SOB.
I cannot think of anything else that will straighten these employees of mine out and still be legal. (well, imperachment and cancellation of pensions as a routine matter would help a bit)
