Turkey : The Turkish Army is reportedly being prepared for creating a crisis in Cyprus

Under the banner front-page title "Media war by the EU against the Turkish Army!", KIBRISLI (1.3.02) reports that the Turkish Ministry of Justice has confiscated the "Idea Politika" magazine because it had written that Turkey is being prepared to create a crisis in Cyprus.

The paper argues that the article of the above-mentioned magazine has been published within the framework of the efforts exerted by the European Union to create "a Turkey where the power of money will rule and everything will be sold and bought like a merchandise". The EU, alleges KIBRISLI, "escalates the media war against the Turkish army which it considers as the biggest obstacle to this".

"According to the magazine", writes the paper, "the Turkish Armed Forces will create a crisis in Cyprus and will be absolutely isolated from the EU".

According to KIBRISLI the EU " is buying off journalists" within the framework of its psychological struggle and the campaign against the Turkish army.

The magazine wrote that Greece and the Greek Cypriots must not be considered as Turkey's enemies. It also argued that the reason for which Turkey wants to join the European Army is the fact that it sees from now that it could come to a conflict with the European Army because of the accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the EU.

A staged battle may resolve everything or ruin everything! It's a gamble! These things happen for domestic consumption, and are usually well calculated and pre-approved from the outsiders. Is it going to happen?

Is something similar escalating in the India/Pakistan front?

When that sentence gets translated into english, let me know.

Fascinating, but I don't think that it is going to happen. I think that this will escalate just enough to throw Turkey out of the applicant list to the EU, and then Cyprus will be allowed to join.

I think that the Turkish military feels that the EU is not good for Turkey, and needs a way to kill it without it being too obvious. If this is what they are doing, I AGREE wholeheartedly!!

The key word is "everything", meaning ideals, ethnic pride, loyalty, etc. That's the only way it makes sense to me.

I would too actually, Turkey would take out Greece in about 2 days, but I don't think that is necesary. The Turkish military does NOT want the EU, and that is FINE with me. Besides, the EU will finish off Greece for Turkey, Turkey won't have to fire a shot. The Greeks will be begging them to come in and take over in about 10 years!! LOL

That'll be the ONLY way for them to get OUT of the EU!!

Sounds good to me, a neat little war to get Turkey out of Cyprus, makes the EU feel good, less wimpy...gives them an excuse to put Turkey firmly in its place, deny them membership or any association with the EU for good!

Turkey isn't in Europe anyway, or the twenty first century either.

It will be a lot like getting Argentina out of the Falkland Islands.

Sorry, I believe that the Turkish military does not want Turkey in the EU, I agree with them, I don't think Turkey should go near the EU with a 10 foot pole. It will destroy Turkey, lock, stock and barrel.

You definitely need a secret decoder ring to get any meaning out of this story at all. And that includes the title, which seems to me to be saying the exact opposite of what the story text is saying. Though I wouldn't bet on it, and I doubt if you'll be able to find a sane judge anywhere who would rule on it. What a waste of bandwidth this is.

Oh please, get real, Turkey really doesn't want Cyprus, I have told you why they are there. When the Turkish Cypriots are secure and have a say in the government and guarantees, the Turkish military will leave. NO question in my mind.

Besides, the EU are a bunch of babies, if they attack Turkey in any way shape or form, Turkey will take them out. The EU military is a joke, and they won't be able to use NATO resources, since Turkey is a NATO member. Nothing militarily is going to happen anyway, it sounds like a way for the Turkish military to get the EU app for Turkey canceled, and that's all.

Quit with your uneducated bumper sticker crap Crystalk, good grief. The Armenians killed 518,000 Turks, I would say that's genocide as well. Who owes whom reparations?

Get real, PLEASE!! Such stupid and inane comments just make you look ridiculous.

NOPE, not until the Turkish Cypriots are guaranteed that the Greek cypriots will not begin ethnically cleansing them like they did between 1963 and 1974. It took the Turks coming and protecting them for it to stop.

Once those guarantees are in place and the Turkish Cypriots have a voice in the government, THEN the Turkish military will leave.

I guess you would like the Turkish Cypriots wiped out, huh? a little ethnic cleansing feel good to you somehow? That's pretty sick.

But just gotta love that bumper sticker slogan mentality you have there.

You need to say this instead, "TURKEY OUT OF CYPRUS NOW!, SO WE CAN FINISH KILLING OFF THE TURKISH CYPRIOTS!!!" Because that is what you are saying.

Cyprus will be allowed to join.

Copper? Cyprus Mines Corporation was founded as an American Company by Harvey Seeley Mudd. I wonder...
