You've got to be kidding me, This appointment was specifically made to fill out the remainder of a six-year term, which has already expired. Is this alleged "Civil Rights Commission" worthy of one cent of taxpayer's money?

I'm not worried. On appeal, this wrong will be righted.

Unless, of course, the appeals judge is another Clinton appointee.

Just defund the damn thing out of the budget and be done with it. Let that ugly racist Berry write her own personal checks to keep it going if she wants her little fiefdom.
The fact that the stupid commission even exists tells me that Republicans are NOT serious about even a microscopically-smaller government.

"We are confident of our legal position and plan to immediately seek an appeal to the Unites States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit." A question for all you lawyers/legal types: what's the makeup of this Circuit court? (bracing for the answer!)

For the love of God and all things decent, please do not post any pictures of Berry or the judge! There may be small children that could stumble across this thread. Please, for the children, don't do it!

Judge Gladys Kessler is white.
Don't worry too much; it's not her only stupid mistake. At least we didn't wait FOREVER only to get something goofed up.
And so it goes . . .

This is nonsense from a liberal Clinton appointee activist judge. If Kessler's ruling stood, it would allow members of various appointed commissions to "resign" just prior to an outgoing adminstration and allow the lame duck president to appoint new FULL TERM members of commissions just before the NEXT adminstration took over. This joke of a ruling won't last long.
Here are a few past "fruitcake Gladys" activities for liberal and Democratic causes:
Tripp lawsuit switched to Clinton appointee
By Pete Yost, Associated Press writer WASHINGTON -- Three federal judges appointed by President Clinton took a lawsuit filed by Linda Tripp away from a Reagan appointee, and randomly assigned the case by computer to one of themselves, court records show. The three, Emmet Sullivan, Paul Friedman and Gladys Kessler, run the calendar committee that controls the docket at the U.S. District Courthouse. In a five-page order dated Aug. 11, they said the year-old Tripp suit never should have been directed to U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth. The court sent a copy of the ruling to Tripp's lawyers Wednesday.
Yep, Gladys was one of the three judges caught pulling hanky panky with the Tripp case.
Gladys also is the environmentalist darling, consitently ruling against citizens and goverment in favor of "treehuggers against humanity."

Bill Clinton is still President, according to the judicial stooges that he appointed while in office!

Thanks for the link. Kessler is even more of a "corrupt Clinton appointed Democrat activist masquerading as a judge" than I realized, a search on Google shows just how deep into liberal political activism she is. This one from July, 2001 is interesting:
Judge Puts Temporary Hold on FEC Release of DNC Campaign Info
The June 25 Watcher reported on the withholding of files of an investigation of coordinated campaign activity between the AFL-CIO and the Democratic Party. A July 17 article in the Bureau of National Affairs' Daily Report for Executives reported that federal judge Gladys Kessler of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. issued a preliminary injunction July 16 prohibiting the Federal Election Commission (FEC) from making these files public. The decision pre-empted a plan by the FEC to make the documents public July 17.

Bump.

This implies that Clinton had no authority to fill the appointment for the rest of the term. That would then imply that Wilson was never properly appointed.

When did judges get the power to decide appointments?

If Kessler's ruling stood, it would allow members of various appointed commissions to "resign" just prior to an outgoing adminstration and allow the lame duck president to appoint new FULL TERM members of commissions just before the NEXT adminstration took over. That's precisely what Clinton did with Berry.
