Searched using terms in the title of the article (as suggested in yesterday's post, which I read yesterday) and did not pick it up.

They are fired. When that law became effective there were numerous law enforcement officers and military personnel that got their walking papers.

Hmmmm, can you get a year for traffic tix? Parking tix? This could be an easy way to get de facto gun control in place. Absolutely! That's always been the basic problem with taking away the right of "felons" to keep and bear arms:

Who or what is the Second Amendment protecting the citizens from? Who or what decides who the felons are? (Hint: the answer to both questions is the same; that's the problem!)

Yep, sounds like an equal protections problem to me. Fire those cops or sue the state.

Don't they belong to a union? Would they be assigned a desk job? For the same reasons that off duty cops are exempt from drunk driving,and speeding due to "professional courtesy", I really would be surprised if they were fired. That would be a good question for the Maryland politico's at a press conference.
