[history]
The recently released Monitoring the Future study and Youth Risk Behavior Survey indicate that smoking among youth is decreasing. While we cannot be sure why, some possibilities include encouragement from the federal and state departments of education that school districts adopt science-based substance use prevention curricula, reduction of billboard and other advertising, and state prevention programs funded by the national tobacco settlement.

Because some one has an MD behind his name he is entitled to propogate falsehoods??? I think not.
The media lets these charlatans get away with it - do we want these types treating people?????

IF tobacco is a LEGAL product, but legislatures around the country make it ILLEGAL to use the product .... does the absurdity of this situation make anyone else scratch their heads and go ... huh?

Gabz, it's late and my melon is dipping dangerously toward the keyboard, but I will certainly address this tomorrow. In the meantime, please gather up contact addies of anyone even remotely open minded for us to educate.

It would be great to see the media give a full account of the WHO's non-manipulated report........ but they will never do it.

Which is more dangerous;
1. Smoking one pack of cigarettes per day?
2. Having unprotected anal intercourse with multiple partners on a daily basis?
Which is the most politically incorrect?

I won't even get started on the unsubstantiated crap this fop is regurgitating.
While the magazine says this guy is an MD, clearly no one told his University about it. (I presume with a name like that, he's the same one.)
No surprises that he is an author of a book called, "Principles of Health Education and Health Promotion".
"Health promotion" being synonymous with "tobacco grants" and "Master Tobacco Settlement Agreement", though to be fair, I haven't found any evidence that Mr Butler is suckling on the MTSA teat.

Looks like it won't be too long now before folks see you tobacco junkies sharing jail cells and lawyers with them there potheads.
Did I hear a chuckle from you fat-assed burger munchers, the government will be after you next.
There are going to be laws passed, since the infrastructure and manpower is in place to enforce those laws and Johnny nightstick needs a paycheck.

Thanks for the info. I looked through the local phone book and there is no MD listed under that name, nor he there a listing in the white pages.
I have a friend who is a department head at the University, I think I'll give him a buzz!!!!
It would not surprise me in the least if they are one and the same, nor would I put it past the particular newspaper to know it.

It would be great to see the media give a full account of the WHO's non-manipulated report........ but they will never do it. Most especially this particular newspaper.

Start with this
I called the National Restaurant Association and asked for research concerning smoking restrictions on restaurant sales. The association informed me it had no such information and could not direct me to any research on the subject.
Check this out for yourself. If the restaurant industry was being hurt by nonsmoking bans then one would expect their own association would have studies and act as an advocate.

Such comparisons are logical fallacies which don't help your cause.
Which is worse, jumping off a 40 story building or having unprotected sex with someone with aides ?
