WASHINGTON, LONDON, and Pretoria need to act now to save Zimbabwe and all of southern Africa from a desperate dictator's relentless mayhem. Like Idi Amin and other African despots before him, President Robert G. Mugabe is ruthlessly destroying his own, once rich land and spreading economic and social chaos into neighboring South Africa, Botswana, and Mozambique.

Note how these socialists expect us capitalists to bail them out when they suffer the inevitable consequences of their philosophy.

A lack of appreciation for diversity of approaches to government?

I mean, we are evil, greedy, racist, homophobic, sexist, imperialistic, slavery-loving Americans (did I leave anything out?) -- what right do we have to criticize Mr. Mubage simply because he a different philosophy of government? I mean, despots are a cultural tradition in Africa that we need to respect.

Same thing happened during the '20's and '30's in the Soviet (un)Union and China. Both had government/socialist produce famines. The leftist/communist/democrates in the U.S pushed for food aid. Same now. Traitors

Another post says we must respect Mugabe!!! What astonishing Ignorance, and in the name of diversity!!

This black Racist Idiot Mugabe has approved the Murder of White Farmers and the confiscation of their land, to be recycled among the Black Murdering Racists who killed them..

Not one seed of food should be sent to feed these Barbarians since they will have caused their own hunger,by destroying the White Farmers and their Farms.

There is almost no coverage of these Murderous acts in the media because the victims are white.

There should be no taxes from white people in America used to feed these Black Murderous thugs..

Forget the Food, the U.S.A. should be imposing SANCTIONS on Zimbawbe and Mugabe until Order is restored and the guilty are brought to Justice (the end of a Rope).

Mugabe and Gadhafi are working out the future opium capital of the world in Zimbabwe. We ought do nothing to aid that country.

" However, Mugabe decreed last week that all food donations had to be channeled through his officials, thus creating a policy dilemma for would-be donors. "

No dilemma there. If the people won't get rid of the madman, let them starve.

They do seem to have blinders on don't they? If one of the permanently oppressed had a hair put out of place by some "vicious racist" this windbag "peace" activist would have called for the Air Force to start bombing within a coordinated campaign with freedom fighter Robert Mugabe to save the world.

They won't starve. They will simply move to South Africa. Then it will get REALLY interesting. The Rhodesians will become the second-class citizens that SA blacks once were.

..."second-class citizens that SA blacks once were."

Please tell me, who occupied that part of Africa first, whites or blacks?
