[history]
As scientists zeroed in on Iraq and the Czech Republic as possible sources of the deadly anthrax sent to the Capitol and news organizations in New York, the government confirmed Thursday that the anthrax used in the attacks was highly processed, potent and pure. The scientists base their assessments on a comparison of samples with anthrax obtained from bioweapon stocks from other nations

Did it ever occur to anyone that these guys are testing a few different types of this stuff to see which one is most effective?

"There's very little doubt that this is the work of a very sophisticated government operation," says a public-health expert who has been briefed on the investigation.
Yesterday the CDC said it was garden variety anthrax. I am tired of all the spin and hype and rumor passing as journalism. As far as I am concerned, this is not a reliable source. Some guy who was briefed by some other guy? What happened to real journalism?

Aha, the forest through the trees! I hadn't had that thought but it's sure planted now. Thanks.

What is the situation in Czech R. now?

I agree. This is a test. And the people conducting the test are
living freely amongst us here in the USA on their temporary visitor-visa.
FUTURE WIDOWS OF AMERICA: WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMAN
The enemy is in this country right now. And any terrorists who are not already here are free to immigrate. The government has been doing an excellent job rounding up suspects from the last two attacks. But what about the next attack? We thought there was only one murderous Islamic cell in America the last time, too. Congress has authority to pass a law tomorrow requiring aliens from suspect countries to leave. As far as the Constitution is concerned, aliens, which is to say non-citizens, are here at this country's pleasure. They have no constitutional right to be here.

AL Qaeda guys and Iraqi security folks were discussing more than the weather They were consulting about nearby vacation resorts in Innsbruck and St. Moritz. Maybe they wanted to compare how fast each of them could drive on the Autobahn. Or perhaps they were arguing over where to get the best beer in Munich during October.
To: Dane
Perhaps I missed something here.
What is the connection to the Czech Republic? Are they implying a Czech sponsorship of the antrax attack, or do they simply mean that a cell is operating from that location?
To: Senator Goldwater
It was a meeting place between Mohammed Atta and a "high ranking member" of Iraqi Intelligence last summer.

Ex-Soviet era biomedical labs in private hands will sell anything to the highest bidder. When it comes to gun running the Czechs and Belgians have always been close to the top.

I believe that the policy that is being established of only going after "rouge terrorists" and now "rouge scientists" will greatly reduce the collateral dammage in foreign countries.
And it will smoke out the evile doers.
They will have no choice but to continue on their present coarse finding more creative ways to go out in a blaze of glory.
However the dammage to citizens in this country will not be spared, requiring us to give up more and more freedoms, money, security etc. Causing the cycle to be repeted again and again. This is a New Kind Of War, indeed.

It passed through Canada on its way to the U.S. Try to remember this when the investigation is done. There are more crooked, criminal Arabs in Canada than in the US. And the scary thing is, they're unaccounted for. I doubt Canada knows they're there, or who they are, or how they got there.

You are right. This is a new kind of war. And the Civil War is a good analogy, because it will be fought on our soil (unfortunately!) and it will require all of us to be armed and prepared.
To: Dane
Let's just bomb Iraq now! Level Baghdad...then go after each and every bunker Saddam has and don't stop until we kill the bastard. When we're finished we'll invite the world press to document the full extent our rage instruct them to show the world what happens when you pick a fight with the US. Make the bastards too damned afraid to start anything with us again.

This is bad news. If the Czechs are developing this stuff, it must be very low-priced.

I thought I had seen this somewhere.
Guess this might explain Atta's visit!
