Great actor to boot. His portrayal of Dorf in “Holocaust” was one of the most chilling portrayals ever.
Don’t guess he gets so may acting gigs these days, eh?
Palin/West 2012.
I like the sound of that!
Wow! :-O I never knew he was so conservative! Kudos to him.
He renounced his American citizenship as an “exile”, moved and later became a canadian citizen...so why should I give a damn about this ex-American giving a damn about his former country?
He’s a conservative who turned his back on America..now he’s canadian.
I love Moriarty.
One of the most laidback, relaxed actors ever, when it was the style to let it all out.
Saw him onstage in 1970 on Broadway in a British play , FIND YOUR WAY HOME. Outstanding.
Bang the Drum Slowly.
Who’ll Stop the Rain.
A style all his own that only he could manage.
ALSO, now emerging as the sharpest minds in ALL of ‘the acting community’, which he obviously never joined, or cares to re-join now.
He was good as the bad man in Beverly Hills Cop.
Great analysis, but your title makes it sound like “American Suicide” will occur if the Palin/West ticket is elected.
Profound.
Yep....he is now a canook living in canookistan....

He has obviously been doing some work in the 2000s. One can keep busy up here in Canada since a lot of the lower end productions are made here. If he is ever nominated for an Oscar then that would be a shock given his views.
“That war was inspired by slavery...”
Gonna pick a nit with THAT often used myth.
Taxation was the true cause of the Civil War. Slavery was secondary.
But, I like Moriarty and the way he writes...wish he’d been more outspoken when he had the chance; when he had the notoriety to have himself heard; back, when he was popular.
I wish him well, and hope he keeps writing thoughtful articles.

I believe he left in '94 because of Bill Clinton and because of what Janet Reno tried to do to his show.
Alberta is more conservative than almost any state in the US.
I consider Alberta the 51st state. It is the only Canadian province worth a damn. The Texas of Canada
Great article.
But he is off by a 0 on the civil waqr dead, over 600,000 died in that war.
