Ron Paul Money Bomb Exploding ($1 million @ 9:30am)
USAdaily ^ | 11/5/07 | Larry Fester

Ron Paul's presidential campaign is getting cash infusion today from grass roots activists on the internet. The activists plan to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each, boosting the campaign by 10 million dollars in a day.

Whether the goal of 10 million dollars in a day is achieved remains to be seen. The campaign as of 10 PM Sunday night had risen just under 2.8 million for the quarter.

As of Monday, 9:30 AM Eastern time, Paul’s campaign has risen over a million dollars bringing the total to over 4.1 million for the quarter.

Paul’s campaign raised over 5 million in the third quarter and had over 5 million cash on hand at the start of this quarter.

The one day fund raising push is already a success and it hasn’t shown any signs of losing momentum. Paul’s campaign had nothing to do with the grass roots effort which makes it even more impressive.

Ron Paul voted against the Iraq war and says he will bring the troops home immediately. Paul seeks to eliminate federal income taxes and wants to reform the monetary system by authorizing competing currencies backed by gold and silver.

Paul also voted against the Patriot Act and has been an outspoken defender of the Bill of Rights.

Are you calling the Founding Fathers terrorists?

However, at the novemberfifth.com website, we did have about 18,000 people sign up to donate $100 or more today.

Well as of this posting it appears that the $1.8m dollar mark of actual donations has been broken, "covering" in a sense the 18k that "pledged" $100 or more ...

the rest is just icing on the cake.

Either way, they are celebrating a terrorist with this ‘Remember Remember the Fifth of November’ money bomb.

What? They burn Guy Fawkes in effigy traditionally. Sometimes, they burn the pope in effigy as well.

Guy Fawkes Day is a celebration of the foiling of a Catholic terrorist plot to destroy the members of Parliament and kill the Protestant king of England.

"It was the grassroots young people that dreamed this up about a month ago. They're so excited about it."

In almost any other situation, the old-timers would be absolutely overjoyed to find the youngsters becomming involved, but not here on Free Republic.

Instead, the old guard Republicans are downright angry and in full denial that so many new faces have found reason to become active in the party.

Whatever that "crazy old coot" Doctor Ron Paul is doing, he is doing it without any help or encouragement from the veteran GOP.

I was responding to 'criplecreek' from Post#13. Thinking out loud as it were regarding the non chance that Paul would win.

Although with the amount of money he is receiving and the grassroots effort should he not be the Republican Party candidate ... there is a real chance for him to spoil another candidate's chances.

He's not running as a 3rd party or independent candidate ... yet. Yes there could be a third party with Paul on the ticket as a grassroots Independent. Screwier things have happened. And he and his supporters could be crazy enough to do it.

Via Washington Times: "His campaign said his 12-hour total was $1.9 million — what they said was the most successful online fundraising day of any candidate in either party this year, and the most successful of any GOP candidate ever. (John Kerry holds the one-day record, raising $5.6 million on July 29, 2004, during the Democratic nomination convention.)".

Imagine how Romney would do if all his supporters held back and pushed everything on one day.. heck, Paul is almost up to his October goal with this big push. Where is he against everyone else totaled again?

Do you have comments by King George calling them that?(Terrrorists)

Well since the term terrorist was not part of the lexicon of the day... no ..

But he did clearly call them traitors..

"A traitor is everyone who does not agree with me." - George III

he also thoght we must be brought back into submission..

"Once vigorous measures appear to be the only means left of bringing the Americans to a due submission to the mother country, the colonies will submit." -- George III

_______________

I think it can be generally assumed that George II would have used the term if it were in the common lexicon

_____________

Guy Fawkes was not accused of Terrorism but of Treason ... the same charges leveled by the Crown against the FF...

Imagine how Romney would do if all his supporters held back and pushed everything on one day.

Romney's supporters in 2Q and 3Q was pretty much his own checkbook.

heck, Paul is almost up to his October goal with this big push. Where is he against everyone else totaled again?

Actually, he is past the October goal already. This event actually caused a lot of folks to withhold their regular giving so they could donate today instead.

By the end of the day, Ron Paul will have much more money than McCain. He might have more cash on hand than Fred Thompson. And he'll be ahead of Romney if you don't count Romney's own loans to his campaign. Huckabee has a fundraising goal for November of $2.1M, I think, and it looks like Dr. Paul will raise that in just one day.

Mitt has 9 million in cash on hand. Great news is he is only 17 million plus in debt. He better write himself another check.

Love to see him to at least beat Kerry today. But of course no matter what he raises those who detest him will have every reason why he did or did not meet the goal. Got to love it.

Ron Paul Money Bomb Exploding ($1 million @ 9:30am)

I should think the words "Bomb Exploding" in the same sentence would have the Paulie surrender-monkeys frantically waving their white hankies trying to capitulate to someone.

Perhaps they misread it as "Bong Exploding?"
