This election is indeed very important. However, what this election is about is whether or not we wish to have limited government once and for all not just by paying lip service to that concept but by deed which the Republicans have abandoned totally. I came from Cuba in 1961. I came to this country seeking liberty. When I became an American citizen I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution Of The United States. I took and still take that oath very seriously. I came to this contry where everyone is supposed to enjoy privacy. I came to this country where the powers of government are supposed to be limited by the Bill Of Rights. Unfortunately, our civil liberties are being eroded with certain portions of Patriot Act 1 Patriot Act 2. Admisnistrative subpoenas are being issued without any apparent judicial oversight as set forth in the Constitution of the U.S. Government spending has increased dramatically under the present adminsitration. Property rights have been eroded. Just look at some of those land grabs. The present adminsitration also has failed to veto a single bill from Congress concerning spending other than for the war effort. Sure, we got a tax cut. However, that cut has just about been eliminated with more government spending. Both Republicans & Democrats have become the parties of BIG GOVERNMENT. It seems that our representatives in Washington with the exception of Ron Paul and a few others, also indicate that they would protect the Constitution, but in reality they do not.
To me this is a time where we have to stand up for that which we believenot by mere words but by deeds. I took my oath of citizenship very seriously and will always do so. Voting for a Democrat or Republican for president is in my opinion compromising our principles. The reason why the Libertarian Party candidate for president is not so well known has to do with the Commission Of Presidential Debates which is a bipartisan dictatorship. The third parties have to have the right to participate in those debates. To me by they not being allowed to do so, goes against the First Ammendment. We cannot ask the big paternalistic government for our rights. We demand them as they were endowed by our Creator.
We need to standup and say with one clear voice, we demand our rights and we will exercise those natural rights. By voting for Michael Badnarik one will be sending out that clear and unequivocal message. I voted for Mr. badnarik and I am proud of having done so. I have absolutely no regrets. At the end of the day, I can sleep well at night, with the knowledge that I have lived up to that oath I took when I became an AMERICAN!.
Yeah. It's our fault that there are terrorists, just like 9/11 was our fault, too, huh?
Putz.
Because you did got yourself a President Kerry, maybe.
Idiot. Illiterate, too.
You're in Florida. You voted for a fringe candidate that no one takes seriously and doesn't even have a snowball's chance in Florida of evn getting a single percentage point.
Will you still have "no regrets" if Kerry is elected?
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
Then you're not a Libertarian, but a libertarian.
In other words, why you were a useful idiot for the left and essentially pissed away a vote for the viable conservative candidate?
I think I saw a guy get zotted not long ago for thinking along your lines. You "L"ibertarians need to wake up -- voting for Badnarik in this election puts the most liberal Senator in WDC one vote closer to the White House.
You're NOT making a statement by voting for Badnarik. You're just being clueless.
Name an attack on American soil since 9/11 and the beginning of the War on Terror.
I'm waiting.
We all need to follow our conscious. the overwhelming majority of people here, have various issues, but are primarily supporting President Bush as God's and man's person for a time such as this in the world.
It would be nice to have a forum for those of you with the ideals & mentality you shared. We are all happier with "our own". I can't help but think you are NOT happy at this forum. Rubs everywhere you turn.
You won't be changing your mind. I doubt you will change ours.
Glad you found a good, better life in the USA. When President Bush IS REELECTED, he wants to make your country of origin free..
We're fighting two wars that are related
the war on terrorism
the war on liberalism
God help us with both.
Good job @$$hole. Thanks for p!$$ing away your vote, moron.
You're in Florida and you threw away a vote in a state that will be crucial for GW Bush. I don't think I've ever been mad at a Freeper but I am now.
You claim to have voted for an independent to protect constitutional rights--do you seriously think a President Kerry is going to protect constitutional rights? He's the one taking signs away from pro-life protesters, whose spokesman say things like "they better hope we don't win" to ... was it the Swifties? I can't remember.
This was a colossally stupid move, alfons.
Hope you sleep well at night knowing you put us one vote closer to a sKerry presidency. Remember, he's the one who announced this weekend that "when" he is president, he will not consult with Tony Blair on matters of international importance, but will consult with his brothers in France and Germany.
Thanks for nothing.

You can stick your head in the sand all you want. the world is too small to pretend that the world out there will just leave us alone if we ignore it.
