I read about half of the "Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown over the weekend. It's a novel, but I still found it disturbing. Any other opinions, comments, etc.?

I haven't read it yet, but, as a Catholic, it sounds offensive, at the least. V's wife.

I am nearly finished with the book, and thing's are looking up for Christianity towards the end.
I have done a little research and discovered that a lot of the info in it is true. The Knights Templar, the pagan symbolism in Da Vinci's works, the matriarchal aspects of paganism, the Gnostic gospels, and so on.
The Catholic Encyclopedia is a great reference source.
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/ (Click on the first letter of the item you are researching along the top of the page) Search engine works, but is not as good as an alphabetical stroll through this amazing tome.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the link -- I finished the book Monday, but I won't give away the end! :^)

Just finished. Well, what did you think? Was it Pagan? or light-hearted fiction?

Not sure. Actually, the ending was somewhat of a letdown, I thought. It's like "is this all there is?" I'm inclined to think light-hearted fiction based loosely on fact. What about you?
