Also, in Orthodoxy and the Ecumenical Movement (Etna: Center for Traditionalist Orthodox Studies, 1997, forthcoming), Archimandrite Cyprian offers these brilliant and penetrating insights..

Anyone from Etna can offer their insights to themselves and skip me. They are not what I consider to be Orthodoxy. Even our local ROCOR church rejects Etna as far too reclusive and paranoid. From the likes of Etna come the ideas about priests not trimming their beards and young girls never cutting their hair.

In fact it was a priest at the local ROCOR parish, from Etna originally, who was finally booted by the parish. They are not canonical and they think the rest of us are all near-pagans.

Most importantly, when you put "tradition" above love, you have lost Christ. Etna would do well to review the story of the Pharisees and take notes.

Example of a book from Etna -

"These essays encompass the history of the Vespers service, a spirited defense of the classic Byzantine commentaries on the Divine Liturgy, an incisive critique of Father Alexander Schmemann’s faulty approach to liturgical theology, and various problems surrounding the development of liturgical vesture."

I choose Fr. Schmemann!! His writings about Orthodoxy are among the most brilliant writings I have ever read. When we went to the OCA I heard all the stuff about their/our supposed adorations of Fr. Schmemann and I was wary. Then I read Great Lent. It is a truly incredible book.
When I go the bookshelf looking for bedtime reading, it is Holy Scripture or Fr. Schmemann. I am reading For the Life of the World now. From reading his books, I must conclude that this man was everything they have said and more.
