Not only that, just because a child of God is only being fed milk it doesn't mean he isn't a true believer. I know that we need to be weened off of milk and on to solid food, but that sometimes takes time and enlightening, not mockery. Remember- the teacher will be judged more harshly than the student.

I didn't get mockery of other versions of the Bible from this post or the other parody song he posted, but then, I haven't looked at all his posts in detail.

I've been using the RSV myself, but I think I'm going to be adding in the Douay-Rheims, the English translation of St. Jerome's Vulgate.

I also like some parts of the KJV for the poetry. No other version does justice to the 23rd Psalm, IMO.

Some of the other translations I've seen, particularly ICEL things, just offend the socks right off my feet. And while I think I see what you mean when you speak of weaning, IMO it is also valuable to realize that there are people who find one's notions risible. If nothing else, it should motivate one to examine one's own beliefs the better to defend them.

I don't think mockery, in and of itself, is necessarily a bad thing. Matter of fact, I was just over reading P. J. O'Rourke's review of the Hildebeest's dead-tree atrocity, and got the best belly laugh I've had in a long time.

Does the NIV and NASB leave out the blood in Col. 1:14 or not?

Now, you do not believe any translation is the 'true' Bible so why are so upset about?

You have the wrong 'Bible' from the wrong Greek text (critical text)

The Douey Rheims however,is better then most of the new bibles based on the Critical text (NIV, NASB).

For example, it has 1Jn.5:7 in it.

It has covetousness is the root of all evil (not all kinds of evil-NIV,NASB,NKJ).

in 2Cor. 2:17 it translates the Greek word far more correctly as 'adulterates'the word then do the NIV,NASB,NKJ with their translation of 'peddle'.

The Greek word came from the habit of diluting drinks, hence corrupting them or adulterating them.
