King of King and Lord of Lords

If I understand dispensationalism, largely because of the influence of Darby and Scofield, dispensationalists don’t really believe that Jesus is reigning now as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Indeed, to them, the Christian church age is but a “parenthesis of history.” They think Jesus’ reign only happens in a literal thousand-year millennium sometime in the future. At that time Jesus sits on a literal throne in literal Jerusalem ruling the world by legal proclamation (“with a rod of iron”). They think that Satan is ruling the world now.

This seems like an astounding conclusion for any professing Christian, and a horrendous insult to our Lord—especially since the Bible teaches that Jesus is indeed reigning NOW as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (1 Timothy 6:15; Revelation 17:14; 19:16). Here are some Bible verses about the present and forever reign of Christ:

“I will raise up your offspring after you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever.” (1 Chronicles 17:11-12)

“For us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore.” (Isaiah 9:6-7)

“His dominion is an everlasting dominion. . . and his kingdom shall not be destroyed.” (Daniel 7:14)

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18)

“And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1:33)

“The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son.” (John 5:22)

“Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.” (John 12:31)

“As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching the good news of peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)” (Acts 10:36)

“For He must reign until He has put all his enemies under his feet.” (1 Corinthians 15:25)

“and seated Him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things under his feet and have him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” (Ephesians 1:20-23)

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son. . . . He is the image of the invisible God. For by Him all things were created. . . . And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. . . . For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven.” (Colossians 1:13-20)

“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of Kings and Lord of lords.” (1 Timothy 6:15)

“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of his power.” (Hebrews 1:3)

“But of the Son He says. . . You are the same and your years will have no end.” (Hebrews 1:8-12)

“He holds the priesthood permanently.” (Hebrews 7:24)

“For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 1:11)

“He who is born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.” (1 John 5:18)

“And from Jesus Christ ‘the faithful witness,’ the firstborn of the dead, and ‘the ruler of kings on earth. . . to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.” (Revelation 1:5-6)

“They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings.” (Revelation 17:14)

“On his robe and on his thigh He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.” (Revelation 19:16)

YESHUA is reigning in the hearts of all those belive in him now, and in Heaven. He will also return, and rule from Jerusalem. Then he will reign in the New Jerusalem forever.

Cowboy, no text (see my list in the OP) says Jesus is reigning in our hearts. I think you are reading things into the text that are not there.

In just a sentence, you shared more Biblical truth than the guy pimping his blog.

Good job.

Thanks for bringing up pimping. Good invitation to mention my book Christian Hope through Fulfilled Prophecy. Here are just some comments from readers (more at Amazon):

“I read your book and I think it is the best on the subject.” — R. L.

“Charles, I read your book, ‘Christian Hope Through Fulfilled Prophecy’ as a gift from some close friends of mine, and was amazed at how simple you made the argument for Preterism.” — S. K.

“I have read many books on the full preterist position and up to this time the best is Charles Meek’s book. The book does not treat you as a fool and answers your questions gracefully.”― J. J.

“You make sense of the Scripture. I just wish more people would get the book.” ― K. D.

“Great book, Charles. It will be in my library for re-read/personal study and small group discussions for many years to come. Again, marvelous work. Thank you again for making it available.” ― M. H.

“You have such a gift in writing things so clear and easy to understand. Clearly, you are the most informative, to the point writer on preterism in our day.” ― M. E.

“It is an excellent book, very clear and concise writing, with scripture backing up everything he states.” ― M. R.

“Charles Meek, and a handful of other authors, is gifted in connecting the dots. Clear, supported and reasoned. ‘Christian Hope through Fulfilled Prophecy’ is my go-to recommendation for people looking at preterism. And his website www.ProphecyQuestions.com. Just think of where our nation would be if church attendees abandoned the myths and fairy tales of dispensationalism and futurism.” ― J. D.

“I agree it’s a fantastic book, easy to follow and read. It’s a must have.” ― M. M.

“I absolutely love this book, it’s very thorough, amazing information and easy to follow. I think it’s a must read.” ― S. T.

“This is an excellent book. One of the best I’ve ever read on the subject. Read it a few years back and still use it for references.” ― D. C.

“I love that you have helped me and so many others in our walk into clearer truth and biblical understanding. I just wanted to say thank you.” ― S. K.

“I am presently reading your book for the 2nd time. So enriching and easy to understand the Biblical concepts. One of the most blessed books I’ve ever read. Why I have not seen these truths for all these years. I am 66 now and feel like I wasted all my ministry years teaching wrong things. Oh well, I am excited to see the truth now. Wishing I had another life to live to get it right. WOW, what could have been. Thank you for writing this book. “ ― B. L.

“Your book is fabulous. I have given away several copies. Thank you very much for writing it.” ― M. B.

“I like you the most of all preterist teachers.” ― M. S.

“Packed full of knowledge. I have read over 100 books on this subject and consider that one to be one of my absolute favorites.” ― D. C.

“Superb book.” ― M. K.

Well, I see you're what Rush used to call a drive-by caller. Except in your case you're a drive-by poster.

Oh, and I see you've already been proven wrong yet again on what you think you believe.

Bro...seriously....give it up.

The staff of the shepherd and the staff of the priesthood both turned into serpents..

That’s why the disciples in Mathew and Luke were not instructed to carry staffs.

Only in Mark were the disciples called to carry staffs.
And even wear sandals..

Because there was going to be a time when the serpent would be allowed in the Church. To corrupt the Kingdom. To leaven the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, the Church.

But the Good News is the serpent gets its tail grabbed and transforms back into a proper staff of a shepherd and priest..

And it’ll be the first sign that causes an unbelieving Israel to believe...

It’s why Peres was born first, but Zerah stuck his hand out and had the scarlet thread wrapped around it.

Zerah means light, Peres means breach.

The Priesthood of Judah through Christ would experience a breach from the Light.

And it’s been about 2,000 demon possesed swine years longs.

But the Good News is the Light is set to return and the breach will end..

Amazing what the New Covenant Church misses in this breach period, this fully leavened, serpent led Church Age..

Satan was allowed a Legion, 6,000 years.
Christ came after 4,000 and before the time of the end, to sow a seed and restore a Kingdom on earth , that Satan has been allowed to corrupt for the last 2,000 years.

That’s why the about 2,000 demon possessed swine is specifically numbered in Mark and nowhere else.
It would reflect the staff the Church in Mark carries, is a serpent..

Until it won’t be..
As a sign that helps Israel prepare for their deliverance from bondage by the Lamb..

The second sign is human flesh becoming leprous than clean again.

What a blessed hope of a glorification of flesh that Israel has to see so they can believe in their deliverance..

So you never present the gospel. All you got is tilting at dispensationalism. Your god is the father of lies
