Fury has erupted after a North Carolina pastor giving a sermon said that he would clear any rapist whose victim was wearing shorts because 'a man's a man'.
Pastor Bobby Leonard was forced to apologize for his despicable comments, posting a message on the billboard outside the Bible Baptist Tabernacle church in Monroe saying: 'I was wrong'.
But it was too late. The clip quickly went viral, and people called for him to resign.
Christian journalist, Julie Roys, wrote: 'Yes, a man is a man, not an animal. And he is responsible for controlling himself. This pastor needs to resign.'
In the full video, Pastor Leonard can be seen addressing the congregation, holding his hands out as he says 'if you dress like that and you get raped, and I'm on the jury, he's gone go free' because 'a man's a man'.
He said: 'You find more women going to those places with shorts, than you will women with pants and dresses put together.
'Try it, if you got time, try it. Have your boy go ahead and try it and watch for it, have your girl go out and watch for it.
'I used to say this, I haven't said this in a long time, you ready: I say if you dress like that and you get raped, and I'm on the jury, he's gone go free, you don't like it do you, I'm right though.
'I'm right, because a man's a man.'
Fury erupted online with one viewer saying: 'Pull him out of the pulpit. This shouldn't even be a discussion.'
Another said: 'That is beyond disgusting. Utterly shameful.'

Christian brothers and Christian sisters have equal responsibilities , both to themselves before the Lord and to each other. even if not married to each other in a given church. They need to watch out for one another and have some spiritual understanding of the inherent weaknesses in each other’s general sex that Satan can use to bring a person into temptation.
That said Christian males AND females can’t always “unsee” what they do see out in the world outside of their families and churches. That is why both male and female Christians need to practice a Christ mindset, that holds all thoughts captive and throws down vain imaginations.
The pastor was wrong about not wanting to give justice to a woman who was raped despite what she was wearing.
Then again women do really need to practice a bit more brutal self honesty add self awareness as to why some will dress as alluringly as they do. A man can learn to avert his eyes and not allow lust to control his actions and women don’t need to dress as sexy sirens while playing the “gas lighting” oh you must have a dirty mind routine with men and themselves!

I kind of suspected the same thing, after doing some searching on the Internet I found the Church web site and found the "What we believe" button and sure enough the first statement was ....We believe that the King James Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God......
I also suspect they probably are followers of Bill Gothard and his ministries culture/cult (even though eventually he was kicked out of his own ministry). I forget what his ministry name is but in the earlier years way back in the 70's I knew it as "Basic youth Conflict seminary" or something like that, I forget what the more popular name it goes by or what it was if it is still in existence. Creepy guy.
I can kill in self-defense. If lost in the wilderness I can ethically break into an empty cabin for food or shelter. I can lie to save myself or others. I can commit all of these “crimes” ethically and morally under certain circumstances.

Amen! I have always said, if a woman wanted to walk down the street nude she SHOULD be able to do so without being attacked. But that’s not reality. A woman who would do such a thing (even dress provocatively) is rejecting reality. She wouldn’t be “asking” for it, but to disregard the likelihood of being assaulted is an extremely poor choice. No means no, even for those who make poor decisions. Rape is the most abhorrent thing that can be done to a woman.

I never questioned the moon landings in the past until I realized we’ve been lied to about everything else. They attacked us in 9/11 because they hate us for our freedoms. Now there’s an in your face whopper.
Some pastors became pastors through a process of study and education without actually making a true commitment to Christ.
