For a lot of religious groups the whole thing is just a racket. It is used to gain power and wealth pure and simple.

From what Jesus has said, there will be a LOT of very surprised Christians on Judgement Day....when they do not gain entry into Heaven.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don’t think that is true... I don’t think anyone who goes to Judgement Day will be surprised. God has written it right into peoples’ souls to know with confidence when they are blood bought believers. I will agree that there are plenty who call themselves Christians who will go into judgement... but they knew deep down in their hearts that they never really had accepted Christ in the first place.
There are left-wing and woke factions in nearly all religions. So it isn’t surprising when they act left-wing and woke.
There is a lot more involved to getting into heaven than “accepting Christ”.
Well, Jesus might have a different opinion...Luke 23:39-43
Granted, getting in is only the beginning of defining our eternal life.
The Bible says that homosexual behavior (not the inclination, but the action) is punishable by death. So any religion that favors homosexual behavior is contrary to God’s Word.
Hence why Christianity in the USA is in a freefall.
I respectfully disagree. The "mainstream" churches are in a freefall. Lots of Christians are leaving the hedonist "churches" and going to real churches. Those are growing. And some local churches are leaving a hedonist denomination (United Methodist) and joining other serious churches in a new denomination.
Don't fall for the Dim's PR trap where they always make out like their side is the norm and is approved by many.
I’ll let you argue with Jesus Christ on that point... as for me, I’ll believe in John 3:16.
Probably more likely the parishioners are dying off. Each generation is less religious. Baby boomers are the last major religious generation and they are dropping like flies everyday.
So I can accept Jesus, then wake up in a bad mood the next day and commit mass murder and kill myself to avoid prison. Instant heaven for me, I guess.
In my faith, the traditionalist form of Catholicism, young families with children are filling the pews at an increasing rate. It is very noticeable, not just at the parishes I attend but at many across the country.
I could concur with what you say as it is applicable to the younger generations overall.
I’m Catholic too and my church is a geriatric facility. I confuse it with congress from time to time. Lol.
Jesus did not have the inclination to speak a volume about every single point He made, to cover the nuances and exceptions. So he made simple statements that are perfectly true, of course, in the majority of cases.
I am traditionalist Catholic and am referring to Latin Masses only.
There is an argument that you never really accepted Jesus if that was your next action, but Biblically speaking, there are no other wickets to pass other than accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. It is what differentiates Christianity from all other religions. No further means tests. Now if you then reject Christ later, then you can be lost. But we dont have to atone for each and every sin (we seem to want to do so anyway out of guilt). And sin is sin, to God it doesnt matter the severity. But Jesus washed all this from us on The Cross.
How we live our life after accepting Christ and how we try to get closer to Him by following His example, does, by some interpretations, effect our ‘status’ in Heaven. Of course we dont really know what that might mean as we cant begin to imagine what Heaven really will be like.
I suppose that even in the case of traditional Masses, there would be geographic areas where the demographics are almost exclusively older people. So, of course there wouldn’t be many younger people attending.
Don't worry about that, I never will.
Agree, and disagree. Yes, I can see your point in that the numbers of parishioners in mainstream denominations are falling, and yes, many are seeking out biblically sound congregations. But I also see where many have fallen from the faith as well.
Try “Accept Jesus, wake up in a bad mood, then PRAY TO JESUS to help claw my way out of the bad mood.“
Your way starts with a fake acceptance of Jesus in the first place.
“And sin is sin, to God it doesnt matter the severity”
False. Protestant heresy.
And the “never really accepted Jesus” is tautological: a circular argument.
Good point. Now, how many of those who have fallen were really in the faith to begin with?
