In the early 90s I would write letters to competent authorities in the Archdiocese of Louisville about liturgical abuses - altar girls, changing words, inclusive language - would mostly get no answer or non-answers. I would cite Inaestimabile Donum (1980). When the priest faces God, parishioners get the sense that we’re there to serve God first. When the priest faces the parishioners, they get the sense that the Mass is first and foremost about God answering our petitions. Maybe it’s subtle at first, but over time it takes root.
Would appreciate prayers for my Mother who is in her last hours or days of life. Cancer. Dad is grieving. My brother and I aren’t let in to see her because we’re unvaxxed. What an evil thing the Chi-Coms set loose in the world. I’ve been praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet for her.
praying for the repose of the soul of your dear mother
