Faith without works IS dead. But it wasn’t the works that saved a person.

Is that also a necessary condition?

Of course--even the demons and Satan himself know that Jesus is the Son of God.

Exactly!

We are saved by Grace alone!

Acts 10:34, after being sent by God to the gentile Cornelius, who clearly was a believer: “Peter began to speak: ‘Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism, but in every nation the person who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.’ “

Only God knows what constitutes believing faith, and we cannot see and know what He knows. First and foremost, it is a spiritual (hence invisible) transaction between the person and God, thus unknowable to us. Isaiah 55:8 shows if we set to judge, we invariably will judge incorrectly - unless we hear from above.

Whatever they want you to belirve, the “bug” has damaged their coffers mightily.

Act 16:29  Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
Act 16:30  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Act 16:31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

The thief on the cross did enough. More than that is not necessary.

Then, in looking up (googling) about this, I was AMAZED at all the blasphemy by pastors and religious pundits.

I was SHOCKED! “That was because Jesus spoke to him in person”. We don’t know that he wasn’t previously baptized”.
“Was he REALLY saved”.

Learned men studying the bible, I should say “scrutinizing” every detail to TRY to understand/explain a verse or word or action, get lost in the pages.

“Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar”.

Jesus SPOKE the world into existence, but when He spoke to the thief on the cross He was just kidding around? He wasn’t SERIOUS?

OR that we need “men” to interpret Jesus’ plain words. “Men” to tell us what Jesus really meant!

Like John 11:35, Jesus wept.

Again, Learned men studying the bible, I should say “scrutinizing” every detail to TRY to understand/explain a verse or word or action, get lost in the pages.

Taking only the red lettered parts (The very words of Jesus), of John 11.

“This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

“Let us go back to Judea.”

“Are there not twelve hours of daylight? If anyone walks in the daytime, he will not stumble, because he sees by the light of this world. But if anyone walks at night, he will stumble, because he has no light.”

“Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up.”

“Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

“Your brother will rise again,”

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

“Where have you put him?”

Jesus wept.

I don’t need some pastor, scholar, theologian to tell me what Jesus meant! I’ll let Jesus Himself and the Holy Spirit tell me what He meant.

why wouldn’t it be?
you can say you are a Christian but continue doing what you did before... what kind of a commitment is that.
the Bible says we are a new creation in Christ. we all have a master.
whether we want to admit without Christ we are living like the world.. its the way it is.... and we do something every day that need not be.. a little inner pick and we know it.

then there are the dems and the media .. they are past pricks.. they openly serve the other side.

My son died 2 ys ago of leukemia.. hard one to go thru!!!..oh my how hard!

he was raised in a Christian home but disappointments in life gave way to disbelief.

this mother never quit praying..and a yr into the struggle to live.. he had a vision.
he saw and talked to family and others.. he also saw the hands of Jesus. he became a believer in that vision...it... heaven is real.

Jesus wants our attention..
100% devotion.. it keeps us right...

First and foremost, it is a spiritual (hence invisible) transaction between the person and God, thus unknowable to us.

This clearly contradicts the Scripture reference you posted just above:

Acts 10:34, after being sent by God to the gentile Cornelius, who clearly was a believer: “Peter began to speak: ‘Now I truly understand that God doesn’t show favoritism, but in every nation the person who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.’ “
You said that we cannot know what God wants, yet here is Peter clearly explaining what God wants.

Thanks be to God ... see you in the clouds! Because God imputed the righteousness of Christ to me the hour I first believed, there is not one smideon of righteousness I couod add by any works I could do. To Him be the glory, I stand upon the Promise from God Who cannot lie and does not go back on His Word. [ 1 John 3:9 ]

It is necessary to believe in the Jesus of Scripture.

Making one up and making him the non-virgin born half brother of Satan, for example, or claiming he’s really Michael the archangel, well, that Jesus is not going to be able to save anyone as he’s a false Jesus.

I call this idea the “perspicuity” of the Word of God.
It with a companion doctrine, the “priesthood of the believer,” is the foundation of the historic Baptist faith.
Of course, if the creation account is wrong, disproven by science, falsely so-called IMHO, then the idea that you hold here is wrong. IOW you get to decide to “interpret” anything in the book just using the same rubric by which you judge Genesis 1-11.

The posted author is correct about salvation. He does not say other Bible doctrines are not important, only that being wrong on these other things does not invalidate Calvary.

To be a christian and not a heretic, one must believe that Jesua was God Himself in the flesh, incarnate.

Sorry but this article, as is most from the ‘Christian” Post, is wrong.

Satan and all his minions believe what this author states as being sufficient for salvation. They all know God exist and that Jesus exist and rose from the dead.

You also have to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior with all that that entails. Accepting the 10 commandments and that Bible in the inerrant word of God written by man but inspired by God.

Jesus tried to explain that to His closest freinds ( John 14 ) and they didn't get it then. I am not so sure that God put as fine a point on it as your assertion.

Jesus IS God, but then you need to explain how God can die on a cross. In other words, then you need to explain the difference between flesh life and spirit Life, flesh body and spirit body, to explain how God could die on that cross.

That is perhaps a deeper study than God would require in order to abide in the born again spirit of a man or woman ( 1 John 3:9 )

Once God abides in the spirit of the man, faith can accept that Jesus IS God incarnate as part of the triune God Who is all in all.

You are adrift, perhaps in Catholic Org theology. Your additional requirements are in the realm of works based to get salvation or keep salvation. God will have none of that!

MHGinTN and his “friends” will tell you that once you are sealed (born again), there is ABSOLUTELY, and I mean ABSOLUTELY, nothing you can do or not do that will keep you out of heaven. Murder, rape, or whatever sins you may commit after you are “born again” mean nothing. You are going to heaven. But, your reward in heaven might just be less. Unbelievable, right?

But you are correct that faith without works is a dead faith.

I am sorry but you are very much in error. Read the Bible. It is not in the realm works.

So you feel that just believing that God exist and that Jesus exist and was raised from the dead is sufficient for salvation. If yes then you are right in line with Satan and all his demons. They know God exist and they know Jesus exist and they know He was raised from the dead. How does that get you salvation???

I think the vast majority of the once saved always saved persuasion

would never consider committing such evil acts

save a few true sociopaths but instead

are actually living by similar Christian principles but

adamant that they don’t need to for their salvation

I think it’s splitting hairs and the devil laughs at our folly.

Pray for Christian unity.
