PITTSBURGH - The Diocese of Pittsburgh has announced plans to consolidate 61 parishes into 15 new parishes.

The mergers, to be completed July 1, will reduce the number of parishes in the diocese of Pittsburgh from 152 to 106.

Bishop David Zubik told parishioners in a letter that “This has not been a simple task” but spoke of the need for sacrifice and said “You are positioning your new parish for more effective ministry by addressing financial needs, sharing resources and allowing your clergy to focus on the spiritual work for which they were ordained.”

Might as well close up the churches. They’ve been deemed “non-essential” by the state. Go home flocks. Liberation theology has it from here, right pope?

Looks like these events are what are going to move me to the SSPX.

This is so tragic for those who must walk. But the RC churches lack eloquent apologists, and evangelism is dead. They are more concerned with global warming and social justice now. Even naturalistic evolution has been swallowed, hook, line and sinker.

This had to happen.
People have simply stopped going to Church.
NATURALLY it's the Church's fault.

It's NOT that Americans don't care to make the time to "keep holy the Sabbath."
NATURALLY it's the Church's fault.

It NOT that Americans have MUCH more important things to do: play golf, tennis, go on picnics to the parks and beaches.
NATURALLY it's the Church's fault.

It's NOT because of any scandal by the Church. Priests, ministers (male or female) MUST be at fault because THEY have failed.
NATURALLY it's the Church's fault.

It's NOT because there are FEWER men (and women) of the cloth.
NATURALLY it's the Church's fault.

It's NOT because families stop praying together.
NATURALLY it's the Church's fault.

Vacations MUST be taken and often there aren't any churches nearby.
NATURALLY it's the Church's fault.

America's mantra to the consolidation: NOT MY FAULT.

The Safe Space of Piux X is not the answer, no matter how bad a short-term problem might look.

Sheltering in an SSPX chapel while others are doing the heavy lifting in the Church is not the man's way out; please stay in the fight.

Vatican II is the one and only cause for the demise of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Church attendance went from 74% to 26% should tell Church officials that something is wrong. Vatican II destroyed everything the Church stood for and no one in the Worldwide Bishopric has any idea what the problem is.

WHY is it their fault? The Catholic Churches I attend don't rail against our country. NEVER have. The Catholic Church priests don't "RAIL" but perhaps you have a pastor who is really an anomaly.
They speak about the daily Gospel. There is a three-year cycle of all the Bible readings so we hear the Bible within a span of three years...then it repeats.

=========================================
Mass is about us and G_d.
I know that. What else would it be about?
Well, that's MY take on Mass.

=========================================
Not about supporting illegal aliens, antifa, blm and every other leftist gimmedat.
I know that too so why such ANGER about something YOU can't change? Does it make you feel better to vent at the Catholic Church?

The illegal aliens are here because their own countries are HELL HOLES. They break our laws by sneaking into our country and getting jobs with people who want CHEAP labor, no employment rights and that won't "tell." If Americans hired OUR OWN, there wouldn't be this problem. And, please, don't whine about high prices.

"blm" is a statement that was formulated to INCITE anger and FOMENT riots. It's a STUPID statement that STUPID people use because they are angry. Those people made decisions over their lives that precluded ANY success: drugs, alcohol, dropping out of school, unemployment, divorce/remarry upteen times, hangin' out with folks who are likewise unemployed and unemployable. They made their choices and they aren't silly teenagers!
Whiny voice: "It's not my fault..... Wah! Boohoo!"

=========================================

Antifa is a political protest movement comprising autonomous groups affiliated by their militant opposition to fascism and other forms of extreme right-wing ideology.

These folks protest for the love of protesting, loudly and vociferously. I used to look at the photos of the '60 riots and wouldn't you know it, I recognized some of the SAME faces in riot after riot after riot.
RIOTS were their raison d'etre. Their lives were spend in displaying as much anger, hatred and violence as their targets could take.
Now if that isn't listening to SATAN, I don't know what is.

Satan is having a great time with all these riots...ESPECIALLY if they are against the Catholic Church.
Remember, Satan tempted our Lord. Yet, our Lord permitted it...to teach us a lesson. If Satan would tempt God the Son, how EASY it might be to tempt US.

.

.

PAX TIBI!

PUL-EEZE. Are you an expert on Vatican II? Somehow I doubt it.

Also I don't know the sources of your statistics. They are lies, more lies and statistics.
"Lies, damned lies, and statistics" is a phrase describing the persuasive power of numbers, particularly the use of statistics to bolster weak arguments. It is also sometimes colloquially used to doubt statistics used to prove an opponent's point. Sir Charles Dilke

==================================

Vatican II destroyed everything the Church stood for and no one in the Worldwide Bishopric has any idea what the problem is.
My, my, my.
All this anger based on your limited research by the equally angry.

You ought to get down on your KNEES and pray to our good Lord in GRATITUDE for being born in the greatest country this planet has ever seen since the Roman Empire.
The Roman Empire lasted 507 years. The British Empire lasted 90 years.

Google
The Empire of Rome [CATHOLIC CHURCH] is still going strong today.
Since the Empire was founded in 27 BC, that gives us a lifespan of 507 years.
However, the Eastern Roman empire, which split off from the Western Roman Empire in the 300s, lasted much longer than that, finally getting conquered and dissolved in 1453.

Add the years of the Eastern Roman Empire and you come up with impressive numbers. I doubt that you will be impressed because your rage seems to be blocking out any message that is contrary to your message of anger and rage.

Deus sit apud vos!

If the Church could survive the Arian Heresy, it could survive anything, my friend. (This includes the current practice of blaming Vatican II for all of our problems in the Church today and ignoring such facts as the decline in church attendance prior to Vatican II and the seeds of Modernism that were sown decades before Vatican II was even called.)

The British Empire lasted much longer than 90 years, even by a conservative understanding of the word, "Empire". Up to 25% of the world's land mass was at one time under control of England, something that would have been simply impossible to achieve in just 90 years.

If one considers the Allied victory at the end of WWII to be the commencement of the American Empire (as WWII certainly marked the end of the British Empire), then the United States would be quite fortunate to see a 90th anniversary of its place at the top.

When will the hangers on realize that the Catholic Church began the decline with Vatican II and now finds itself in the garbage can. Does anyone with a modicum of intelligence believe today's Christ's Church He left behind makes him pleased?

Popes embracing Modernism and Secularism, kissing the Koran, siding with global warming nitwits, seminaries ruined and empty due to homosexual priests. No dignified mass, new churches being built that look like airplane hangars it's all over excepting.....the rise of Sedevacantism. The Roman Catholic Church is indeed and well in hundreds of churches and chapels that still say and chant the Roman Missal as was the norm prior to Vatican II.

Sunday mass is available to all on the internet at 9 AM EST on sgg.com. Today it's every bit as proper than sitting in a pew listening to guitar music and hymns that were recently invented.

Google is a search engine, not a history site; it's only going to give you results of the subject you type in.

If you can find a site anywhere that puts the start of the British Empire later than the sixteenth century or its end prior to the twentieth century, by all means, put up a link.

But forget about Google for a moment, we can reason this out; if our war for independence was fought starting in 1776 and the British Empire didn't collapse until the Second World War, we know it lasted at least almost two hundred years.
