The British Empire lasted much longer than 90 years, even by a conservative understanding of the word, "Empire". Up to 25% of the world's land mass was at one time under control of England, something that would have been simply impossible to achieve in just 90 years. If one considers the Allied victory at the end of WWII to be the commencement of the American Empire (as WWII certainly marked the end of the British Empire), then the United States would be quite fortunate to see a 90th anniversary of its place at the top.

I guess "Google" is wrong. That is what THEY published. But, what do they know?

Google is a search engine, not a history site; it's only going to give you results of the subject you type in.

If you can find a site anywhere that puts the start of the British Empire later than the sixteenth century or its end prior to the twentieth century, by all means, put up a link.

But forget about Google for a moment, we can reason this out; if our war for independence was fought starting in 1776 and the British Empire didn't collapse until the Second World War, we know it lasted at least almost two hundred years.
