The drop in the practice of Catholicism like all the societal progressive leftist destruction is rooted in the change of thinking about family, God and order. All were rejected. It started with cultural acceptance of artificial birth control.

I never said Catholics weren’t Christians.

What I said was, when a Catholic nation like Ireland, Quebec, or France leaves the Church they have a tendency to leave Christianity altogether, unlike Protestants who are always reinventing their churches.

... or to bring your words into the context of God’s Word:

“And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.”

(Mk 4:18,19)

I don’t know a whole lot about the Catholic Church in Ireland, but perhaps it is more concerned with promoting a liberal social agenda than with attending to the spiritual needs of its members—a major reason why mainline Protestant churches are struggling in the US.

Incidentally, Catholicism is thriving and growing in some Third World countries such as Congo-Kinshasa, Uganda and Nigeria.

Don’t know why? Do you think perhaps young Catholics were turned off by the homosexual predators within the clergy, the hierarchy and their obtuse criminally compliant protectors?

The Catholic Church is overrun with Sodomites
Why would I even consider subjecting my children or grandchildren to it. That would be child abuse.

Because there is different flavors in the former and one in the latter.

Between the boy bangers in the priesthood and the abuse of unwed mothers by the so called “good sisters” I guess you can say they had it coming.

Jorge is a psychopath. He is tearing down a church. That’s all.

The idea that Catholicism is thriving in the turd world is bunkum. Consider one recent example; Brazil, which has hundreds of years of Catholic influence, under Jorge Bergoglio the Anti-Christ tried to legitimize the inclusion of Pachamama the pagan idol into the Holy Mass, because the “Catholic” Amazonian Indians wanted it done. And places like black Haiti, which has hundreds of years of Catholic influence, too, still practices voodoo and Santeria. God knows what abominations the black Africans in supposedly “Catholic” parishes continue to practice.

If you’re talking about scandals in the specific sense I don’t think so. Adherence is falling across most sects not just Catholics and this is centuries long before the current crop broke. One of the great untold stories is how even Muslims are feeling the pinch. In fact the ones doing the best are the most fundamentalist groups, which are supposedly the ones that have this problem the most. Its more an aggravating factor. Now if you’re just talking about scandals meaning the general incompetence of certain religious hierarchies when it comes to facing the current challenges.

Maybe because the Pope is a Marxist pretender but that’s just a guess.

I had him pegged for the anti-Christ, but that's just me.

What you said was, “But when Catholics lose faith in THEIR church, a lot of them cease to be Christian at all. ”

What I’d like to know from you is, How does someone “cease to be a Christian at all”?

Well the scandals do not help just to correct you. Heard on the Rush Limbaugh Minute about the damage the left has done to faith and one wonders why there is so much violence in our world at this time.

The BAD news is that there is problems in the Christian community across the board.
