[Catholic Caucus] The Shamazon Synod: A Short Guide for the Skeptical

The Synod on the Amazon, another orchestrated sham, is proving to be just as subversive as the worst predictions assumed. As LifeSiteNews reports, on its first working day the Synod’s chairman, Cardinal Clàudio Hummes, made it quite clear that women’s “ministries” and married priests will be front and center in the proceedings. 

As if we didn’t know.

In his opening address to the Synod, Pope Francis delivered the now standard narrative that his synods are oracles of the Holy Ghost that convey the latest gnosis for the next ruinous innovation of the Church.  Allow me to translate Francis’ remarks on the matter into plain English:

• “Synod is [means] walking together under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit.”

Translation: “Synod” means bowing to the will of the Pope and the Synod’s stage-managers.

• “The Holy Spirit is the main actor of the synod. Please don’t drive him out of the hall.”

Translation: If the Synod Fathers don’t go along with what Francis and his collaborators have planned, they are sinful people who defy the will of God.

• “Consultations were held, discussed in the Bishops’ Conferences, in the pre-Synodal Council, the Instrumentum Laboris was drawn up which, as you know, is a text-martyr, destined to be destroyed, because it is a starting point for what the Spirit will do in us.”

Translation: The Instrumentum Laboris is just the beginning of the proceedings whose outcome is already determined.  Something even worse is in the works.

• “And now we walk under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”

Translation: And now we will proceed according to the will of Francis, who has already determined what the “Synod” will “decide”.

• “Now we must allow the Holy Spirit to express himself [sic] in this assembly, to express himself among us, to express ourselves with us, through us, to express ourselves ‘despite’ us, despite our resistance, which is normal for there to be, because the life of the Christian it is so.”

Translation: No one must resist the outcome that Francis and his collaborators have planned and will stage-manage from start to finish: lady “ministers” and married priests.

What is so remarkable is that Francis has no compunction about declaring that his Modernist sham of a synod is a work of the Holy Ghost when he has to know that no one, not even its proponents, seriously believes this and that even to suggest such a thing involves a presumption that borders on blasphemy.

The invocation of the Holy Ghost in order to cloak Modernist propaganda with the appearance of divine approbation is shameless ecclesiastical demagoguery on the order of a mere politician’s invocation of God’s blessing on a nation that legalizes abortion and wages unjust wars. 

They have no shame. But then, they have no credibility either.  All over the world, the faithful know that this Synod is a sham and a threat to the integrity of the Faith.  What these demagogues do have, however, is the levers of ecclesiastical power in their hands.  God only knows what damage they will be allowed to inflict before the apostasy that “begins at the top” is ended and the worst crisis in the Church’s history is reversed.

It used to be that the Pope --- whatever he was personally, a genius or a dummy, a saint or a scoundrel, a hermit/ascetic or a princely mover-and-shaker --- knew that religiously his job is not to be a "creator of content" but merely a transmitter of the perennial doctrine. His duty is to be the servant --- not the master --- of the Deposit of Faith, which is not his to "own" but his to transmit dutifully to the faithful of his generation.

I'm not an expert or an academic historian, but I have taken a lively interest of Catholic history for decades, and have taught it as part of my service as a parish catechist. And I will tell you now, that as far as I know, this pontificate is without parallel. It is uniquely disastrous. Peter's boat is being piloted by a guy who is drilling holes in the hull and inserting sticks of dynamite. Pope Francis is a dedicated foe of Catholic faith and morals.

The "bad popes" of the past --- there have been, by my estimate, about 8 or 9 quite bad ones --- were mostly sunk in their own personal vice, and did not mess with doctrine because it frankly didn't interest them. They were willing to repeat all the right words, anyway, while they were pursuing their courtesans, making their illegitimate sons Cardinals, or besieging cities in southern France.

They may have lived infidelity, but they didn't TEACH infidelity as if it was required by the Ten Commandments.

This one we've got here is different.

Because it appears he is not Catholic. When it is The Church vs. the pope we will side with the former. When it is pagan babble vs Church doctrine we will side with the latter.

The Head of the Holy Catholic Church is Our Lord Jesus Christ, we follow Him. Ill advised actions by any human being may be justly criticized, Saint Catherine wrote such a letter to Pope Gregory. The job of the pope is to conserve the teachings of Christ, not to negate, ignore or innovate according to his own will.
