Metropolitan Community Church of Rehoboth will host a program entitled Homosexuality and the Bible, an In-Depth Study, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26.
This seminar will show that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality.
For better understanding of scripture, participants will look at writings of ancient scrolls though the influences of Middle Eastern traditions, Hebrew traditions, Greek and Roman traditions and early Christian situations.
Attendees also will look at the difference between translation and interpretation, the difference between historical-critical reading and literal reading, defining sexuality and spirituality, the danger of picking and choosing scripture passages and the challenge to question scriptures.
Scriptures to be covered will be from Deuteronomy, Genesis, Judges, Leviticus, Matthew, 1 Corinthians, 1 Timothy and Romans.
Facilitator will be the Rev. Harry Stock. He completed five years of study in the West Virginia School of Religion, Order of Jerusalem, received a bachelors degree from West Virginia University and a master of divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary. "You've come a long way, baby" /s
All Christians are justified sinners.
Some try to justify their sins.
Wow what a fruit :)
You can make anything fit into the parameter of your beliefs if you’re willing to lie to yourself hard enough.
That is so gay.
Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:27 beg to disagree; but of course what is the word of ALMIGHTY GOD to disagree?
Jude 6-7 (NKJV)
[6] And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; [7] as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
The example of Sodom and Gomorrah is still valid today. The men of sodom wanted to rape Lots male guests. God blinded the sodomites and shortly afterwards destroyed the city with raining fire and brimstone.
God has not changed his mind about this disgusting evil. The Bible accurately describes these filthy dreamers:
Romans 1:32-2:1 (NKJV)
[32] who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
They know its worthy of death.
Man you got that right
Certainly familiar with those verses, thank you.
One would think that no reasonable person could misinterpret them. But then, we’re not living in an age of reason.
He’s literally wearing his sin as a cloak of pride. This individual is not a Christian. He worships sodomy.
Galatians 5 New International Version (NIV)
Freedom in Christ
5 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery....
7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.....
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love....
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh....
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Mathew 5:17
It takes a lot of mental gymnastics to get to the conclusion this guy gets to. The plain truth ought to be a bit more ..well plain.
Leviticus 20:13
Ephesians 5:3-7
[3] But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; [4] neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. [5] For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. [6] Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. [7] Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Fornication covers a broad spectrum of sexual sins which includes sodomy. Its not to be named among us. It incurs Gods wrath.
Metropolitan Community Churches are strictly Faggot “churches” and were founded as such.
A tax-deductible registration fee is $20 and will include refreshments during registration, lunch and a binder with all working materials.
I dont think so. In order for a cash donation to be deductible, you cannot receive anything of value for it. The seminar, lunch, binder w/ materials and refreshments all count as items and services of value.
Heres an example of the logic queers us to justify their sexual behavior to God:
God is love,
Love is blind,
Ray Charles is blind,
Therefore,
Ray Charles is God.
Very funny, furthermoreRay Charles is dead. Nietzsche was right God is Nietzsche.
Maybe he should throw in some biblical health laws in addition to trying to justify fleshy sinful nature.
