When it became known that Id invited bishops in same-sex relationships there was a huge outcry from large parts of the church, and significant numbers of bishops said they wouldnt be able to come. Secondly, when it came to inviting the spouses I pushed it as hard as I could, Welby insisted.
The Church of England will be happy to fight decline by becoming muzzy. The Catholic Church has already begun that process.
people attend church for a variety of reasons, many wishing to augment their connection with our Creator and to learn His wishes for us and our lives
or something like this
everybody understands that He wishes us to lead moral lives... and if morality is not preached or taught....
it raises the question that maybe that church is not connected well, if at all, with our Creator (since the church isn’t teaching His word)
and then there are some “churches” like the Anglicans/Episcopals (and some more!) that teach in direct opposition to His word...
We had this conversation with a cleric recently. He started quoting from a well-known (misguided) preacher about how wonderful homosexual conduct is (in his opinion). We had to inform him that’s not what we attended to hear. Either he preaches good and proper moral values or else we go elsewhere. Like, we don’t go to a fancy restaurant to be served a sh*tburger
The Brits don’t have enough embarrassment with MeGain Markle?
Religion is dying. The most liberal elements experience it faster. But it’s eventually coming for all iterations.
